    Air Dry Clay Pots for Planters| air dry clay projects (mushroom planter and urban outfitters inspired planter)
    Hey guys, I wanted to share 2 air dry clay planters that I made. I the first one is a mushroom planter and the second one is a planter that was inspired by a pot that I saw on urban outfitters.
    Clay used:
    creative paper clay: amzn.to/3wAKoJD
    das air dry clay: amzn.to/3AuWg0P
    Clay tools: amzn.to/3TxFJC2
    1st container used - old bath and bodyworks candle jar
    circle jar - dollar tree
    I looked at Joann's to link the mushroom stamps I used, but they are no longer sold so I linked a different set of mushroom stamps - amzn.to/3PQzqpT

    I've been trying to find an easy way to make a pot like the second one with oven baked clay, I would have never thought to use air dry over glass, so smart!

    I wonder if it would be possible, after letting the pot dry for a few days, to dip your stamp in white paint and press it in the same mark ? (If that makes sense 😅)
    These are sooooo cute !!

    Is there a way to add a drainage hole? I'm worried about root rot

    • @IvettDIY
      @IvettDIY  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Since I make these using glass containers I would say no. But I keep my plants in nursery pots and use these planters as cover pots so I never have an issue with root rot. But you could make these using plastic containers and add in a drainage hole.

    it is very cute! are they OK with water after triple thick varnish if you have to wash the inside of the planter? also what paint did you use?

    • @IvettDIY
      @IvettDIY  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I’ve gotten water on mine and they have been fine. Just make sure you don’t drench them in water though. When I wash them I make sure to be really careful not to soak the planters in water and most of the time I’ll use like cleaning wipes to do it. And I used acrylic paint on them. 😊

    Hi! Do I need to put some glue or something between the glass and the clay? Or there’s is not way that both take off?

    • @IvettDIY
      @IvettDIY  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve only always just put the clay on the glass and it’s always just stuck on. I mean you probably could put glue on the glass if you really wanted to, but I don’t think it’s necessary

    What is the plant you put in the first pot?

    • @IvettDIY

      So I kept it the natural terracotta color that the clay dried as and then for the mushrooms I painted them in with the color vintage white by folk art.

      You could try putting Plastic Wrap around the glass before you add on the clay and then before the clay has fully hardened slip it off

    Your video is good but with these planters how u plants survive bcus there is no hole down no drainage n plants cannot survive sticking is not good idea u have to remove clay from glass it’s just a suggestion bcus m a pottery artist I make planters from terracotta clay and stoneware clay

    • @IvettDIY
      @IvettDIY  ปีที่แล้ว

      I keep my plants in their nursery pots and use these as basically their cover pots. So I take them out when it’s time to water & then stick them back in after. The planter with the little feet fits 3 inch nursery pots & the mushroom one fits 4 inch nursery pots :)
