I assembled one of the switches (luckily still had a Technics L motor, a Cityhub and a color sensor lying around). Works brilliantly.

Note: the linked video for the switch assembly only works for 6W, not 8W. I had to modify the build to use 2 rows less towards the track, so that even the BlueBrixx 8W Rheingold carriages manage to pass the switch block.
