- An Anglo-Saxon burial site was excavated by University of Reading archaeologists in August 2020. They recovered the remains of a robust, six-foot-tall man - now known as the 'Marlow Warlord' - who is thought to have been the leader of a tribal grouping and a warrior himself.
The team are now fundraising for conservation work to allow the items found to be put on public display in Buckinghamshire County Museum. Donate here rdg.ac/marlowwa...
In this video, Dr Gabor Thomas, from the University of Reading, explains the significance of what was found and why it could change what we know about post-Roman Britain.

* Please note: the archaeologists involved in the excavation formed their own 'bubble' for the duration of the project, meaning they were not required to socially distance
Can he be identified? He must have been quite a figure and at his age well-known.
Exciting! I donated to the cause!
This was the Summer of 2020? Really 1:06 shows 7 students is very close proximity and no covid precautions at all!
