HR is not your friend. HR's purpose is to protect the company, not the employee. You will have people like Fred and James in your life and you might make them friends or mentors. The others, you'll just work with or avoid most likely. As an engineering student, you won't have trouble finding boyfriends since engineering is heavily populated by men. Take your time and choose wisely. Also, if I have learned anything, it's that people are messy. We are all notes in the universal song or symphony of life. Some people are beautiful riffs and melodies and others are discordant. Some are just pure trash or walking dead from a spiritual perspective. You seem to be very much the former. Good luck and have a beautiful life, and enjoy the roller coaster ride.
Firstly, by looking at your makeup I think you’re the brightest star in the universe. You’re the brightest star in the universe even without having any makeup on. As for toxic workers, I share your sort of experience. I have some friends at work who I give plenty of personal space, but won’t take the time for an occasional chat, making me feel left out and neglected. They would walk away saying politely because they’re either too busy which I can understand or the other is that they’re not too busy and just won’t find the time for a chat. Overall, I’m explaining that I share your kind of situation. Like always as I keep saying. Stay strong and stay human❤😊
Omg! I love company stories. Please give us a part 2 to this. Glad that you're doing better mentally and physically after your experiences in Japan. Hope you have a happy new year and looking forward to more of your content. Be well.
Love the way chika san expresses her frustration for that company using profanity and the cus words welcome home to the USA chika san and let them know how you feel✊️. Blessings chika san and be safe🙏📿✝️⛪️🤲🕍.
I followed your videos briefly last year and you seem so much happier now (not that you seemed unhappy or anything back then)! Also please make this into a series lol I love office stories
Chika is back!! You look so good and I can hear freedom and relief in your voice from leaving this toxic company. I recently left a company too because everyone was constantly erupting toxic energy in the work place, it triggered my anxiety, and my stomach hurt allllll the time even when I went home because the thought of having to do it all over again day after day . Rooting for you!!
I like this pod-style/get ready with me kind of content when I'm busy and I can just listen along. I bet it feels great to let it all out finally!!! That's a great idea that your friend started naming everyone though. When you said, "There was this one BITCH", I felt that emotion come out! LOLOL Looking forward to Part 2~
You really are very beautiful. I must say that you can really pack a lot of stories and information into a short amount of time I enjoy listening to you. Keep making these great videos.
Love your stories chika san cause i learn alot about the do's and don'ts of nihon and how you have to be vigilant about certain people in nihon. Blessings chika san and be safe🙏📿✝️⛪️🤲.
I have read a lot about Japanese lean manufacturing (one favorite is "The Toyota Way" by Jeffery Liker), so I always sort of assumed most Japanese companies had their sh*t together, but I guess that is not the case. With the workload and long hours, I thought it was a "work hard, play hard" situation, but it is more like a "work hard, good luck surviving" situation. It seems like there were a few great people there and I can see you light up when you talk about them. You were more cheerful and upbeat than I would be when talking about old coworkers I didn't like.
I just saw your video but I forgot to put in the comments , when I finished watching it, you are a great storyteller I hope you Continue to make videos like thisthese type of videos, and I’m so happy that you’re back
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends. Chika I'm so happy that you are doing good. I like this video as well. Also you look so beautiful sweetheart.
I have no idea why this makes me want to not go out and just watch the movie Office Space(1999). Characters perhaps? Happy new year. Wishing you much prosperity and health in 2024. (The breaks to ask about the makeup were unexpected switch ups for the topic. Good comedic timing)
The interesting perspective on this is that while she’s describing true Japanese individuals within the company they are labeled with “American” names. Ruby and Karen are classics. 😂 It just goes to show that there can be quite a bit of drama at any company. Some co-workers are nice and some not so nice. Even as I reflect back. Some who I thought were somewhat mean are actually the ones who cared more about my career and advancement.
I work in Japan in Tokyo right now, just started a a couple months ago in December. My so called leader is rather toxic and conduct power harassment. I’m still in the ganman phase lol. Eventually I’ll either change to another company, or I’ll formally discuss it with my leader’s manager. But overall workplace environment in Japan isn’t the best for my mental health esp if you grew up in the west
Hey if you are trying to look for new content, I recommend a day trip to Mt. Dora. They have an old Japanese couple from Kyoto and Tokyo (if you've healed from being around other Japanese as mentioned from your other video about not wanting to be around other Asians) they own a place called Fun-Ko. It is a nice restaurant. From talking to them they seemed very westernized. I even said "oi" and they did not react negatively to it. Honest question: is it true getting maternity leave is hard in Japan? I hear it exists but do companies rarely accept it?
@Chika Alice, I thought I remembered you saying in a previous video that you can't eat the food in the United States due to a chronic illness. If that's true then how do you deal with that?
Hmmm, I don’t recall saying that but if it was in relation to my stomach issues, I’ve been cooking most of my meals at home! Sorry I have bad memory (on top of a bad stomach) 😂
Those girls that try to use their cuteness or sexualization is funny. Had some at my job try with me and I just look at them thinking, “bruh, not at work and you’re not type at all. So nah”
The Japanese work environment is often wildly unprofessional. Especially at nomikais. I didn't experience harassment per se, but working in Japan reminded me of high school in the US.
Yes if you can. Please created part 2. Hope you had one lovely time on fridag. To help others is Nice, take it as one challenge. Have experience where sales have promise things without ask it was possible. Like one program that did not work om 64 bit server, and the producer Said it did not work. But the customer refused to downgrade their system. After some testing it turned out it was the webpart that struggled. Luckely i found some emulation program that could fix the webpart. So i know your feelings. I differ collegues and friend, seldom mix. Sorry if it's some typo.
We do not have after work drinking. But we have xmas party. Remember one, where one was a bit drunk. For some reason, one manage to loose his shoes. Later he lost his dress jacket. And at the hotel entrance he start to loose his pants. The receptionists got a bit in panic. But was prevent and he kept his pants on. But manage to cut his hand and needed to attend hospital.
i dont think its that dudes cant see through the girly bullshit but more so that they just like the attention they receive, kinda like when they go to a host club lol
You were able to bring a lot of money back to America? I’m sure the moving costs, various taxes, and especially then tanked Yen value must’ve been brutal.

2:27 Michael Scott vibes 😂
Edit; ok, maybe not, but the first part with the “fashion show”
I like this pod-style/get ready with me kind of content when I'm busy and I can just listen along.

Doesn’t matter where you are in the world. Same work bull everywhere.

Lmao I love the gossip, could listen to you ramble on about your time in Japan all day 🤣 Also, the makeup looks great!
Thanks for the video!

HAHAHA. "SHE CAME OUTOF THE BUSHES...." ONE MORE OF THIS? FUCK YEAH WE DO!
BRO my heart stopped for a good moment when she popped out 🥹
We need a part 2!!
Very interesting perspective. There was a time where I once wanted to work in Japan. I guess it's a good thing that I haven't (yet).
It’s a wild ride! I would recommend it if you really want to ☺️ (you can always leave worst case lol)
This is one of the best stories I’ve heard out of Japan. It’s like your coworkers were pulled from a stereotypical American office comedy lmao
I have no idea why this makes me want to not go out and just watch the movie Office Space(1999). Characters perhaps? Happy new year. Wishing you much prosperity and health in 2024. (The breaks to ask about the makeup were unexpected switch ups for the topic. Good comedic timing)

NO part 2 am afraid for your life😂😂😂 your literally driving the bus over the entire company 😅

Gotta say, albeit it’s only on social media and showing what you want but you seem a lot happier since being back in the US
Therapy has been helping too 🥹 thanks for noticing
@@chikanoha so glad to hear that it’s helping
Hope things have been well!
@Chika Alice, I thought I remembered you saying in a previous video that you can't eat the food in the United States due to a chronic illness. If that's true then how do you deal with that?

@@chikanoha I tried leaving a response with a link to the video but it's not showing that it saved on my end.
So .. moral of the story Part 1 -- be glad your name isn't Dave. haha Bring on Part 2!!
Those girls that try to use their cuteness or sexualization is funny. Had some at my job try with me and I just look at them thinking, “bruh, not at work and you’re not type at all. So nah”
I feel like Ruby should be working as a hostess lol

Happy New Year to you too Doug!!
dam , make me wanna work in japan, free reality tv show
LMAO a survival reality tv show 😂
I'm curious, after all that would you ever return to Japan for work or only as a visitor? Also how good is your Japanese?
Only as a visitor most likely! I’m fluent in Japanese
Do you still have time speak Japanese? Did you remember about Mairi Watanabe? Have you met to greet her in this coming of 2024?
She’s in Japan so I haven’t seen her in a while. Miss her so much 🥲
part 2!
😂 is funny how you speak on how everyone put work on freed even you cause he was too weak to say no
✌🏾👍🏽💜💜💜 Continued Blessings To You
almost sounds like a black company. yikes.
i dont think its that dudes cant see through the girly bullshit but more so that they just like the attention they receive, kinda like when they go to a host club lol
no make-up needed

IT HAS BEEN BRUTAL and I am now poor lol
