In my opinion, this is Priest's most underrated album. I'm sure the Priest purists out there that can't see past Halford would call me insane, but for me this album is right up there with Painkiller. I do love Halford and No one will ever top what he had done, but on this album Ripper gave him a run for his money for sure.
Yeah the lyrics were more simplistic and brutal, bit like cannibal corpse its lyrics or dethklok's. ... Come to think of it that this album would sound great as a dethklok album if the vocals were death metal.
It's not the lack of halford, it is the fact it sounds like a somehow even worse version of thrash metal. If they released a priest sounding album rather than an odd slayer tribute album, I think Owens would have been a fine replacement for Halford.
Yea, I couldn't agree more with you. I'm a die hard priest, slash, halford fan, having seen Priest 7 times. This album just rips it up. Like you I also think it's highly underrated. It has an edge, that quite frankly, dare I say it, most Priest albums don't have.
TOP 5 Priest album, not doubt. Maybe even TOP 3 but that's a bit of a stretch. I've been thinking this ever since I've first heard this album. Yes, it is different, it is unlike everything Priest has ever done with Halford but it doesn't change the fact that it is a masterpiece. Demolition, on the other hand, is a very weak album. This one is not.
in fact, I personally think that ripper owens can handle more different types of singing than Halford, including screams like halford does too. Halford is just great screaming but i dont think he is as good as ripper, at least in style variety.
Ripper Owens kicked ass with Priest....despite certain so called opinions he brought a freshness and raw edge to the band that wasn't there for a good while...RIPPER we love your music with Priest and your solo efforts...keep kicking major ASS!!!!
The hangman's noose won't get me Gas chambers never stress me They can line me up against the wall No firing squad will make me Confess or even break me I'll stand alone or not at all I will not obey I will not betray I will not give in Not while I'm living No surrender We never will surrender We are all dead meat Cut us, watch us bleed No shackles made will chain me No endless pain will change me The scars will testify this all No solitary confinement Will break my strong resignment I'll die before I will conform I will not obey I will not betray I will not give in Not while I'm living No surrender There'll never be surrender We are all dead meat Cut us, watch us bleed Read in my obituary Defiance breeds victory No cage they make can hold me No law enforced controls me No trap that's sprung stops me for long No prison cell contains me No snare they set will claim me Relentlessly I'll fight them all I will not obey I will not betray I will not give in Not while I'm living No surrender We never will Be driven asunder No surrender We never will Raise the white flag We are all dead meat Cut us, watch us bleed We are all dead meat Cut us, watch us bleed Indoctrination Will never Suppress me They're seriously mistaken 'Cause I'll take them Down with me And just before they're finished They'll scream along with me We are all dead meat
first Judas priest album i ever listened to was that double live album. the second one was Jugulator. It was released around the time when i was a teen and was just getting into metal and i kinda just listened to what my pops did. Judas. sabbath, maiden, dio, scorpions, alice cooper, deep purple, acdc, led zeppelin was my bread and butter. I remember telling my friend at school to get Jugulator released on a tape cus I knew Judas Priest was a sick band. We would listen to this tape religiously along with "ride the lightning" and "angry machines" by DIO. over and over again and play video games like quke 1, Carmageddon 2, duke nukem 3d, heroes of might and magic 3.... good old comfy teenage times
Un gran disco, bastante incomprendido allá por el 97 por los fans de siempre de Priest; tracks como: Catedral Spires, Decapite, Blood Stained... son verdaderas ejecuciones violentas de metal.
KK should just dispense with the back and forth, get together with Tim Owens and Les Binks and two other guys, call it Dead Meat or something, write some kick ass new songs in this vein and tour on that and songs from Jugulator and Demolition....BAM!
well, if there's anything on my bucket list.. it would be rob halford with priest doing this song. i know he can do it. and i know he secretly likes this song too. all other owens priest, i find it crap, but this song is a gem.
Bro, Ripper Owens IS THE MAN! GIVE THE MAN THE RIGHTFUL CREDIT AND RESPECT HES DUE! Jugulator is a BADASS SONG, Bullet Train is badass, Cathedral Spires is badass, Burn In Hell is also badass! Bro, Jugulator is a SOLID 9/10 as an album in its entirety. It's their next album that kinda let me down bad. Demolition sucks!
They do not sound like slayer and judas priest will never be better than slayer. Slayer have a better drummer, a better singer way better guitarists and bassist as well.
Criminally underrated
This album needs more respect because it kicks ass
What I like about this LP is the fact, guys at theri 40's started something totally different. Respect

sean bickford yeah i love the sound
Judas priest + Slayer + Pantera
Anyone who thinks that Tim Owens sucks needs a brain immediately. This is bitchin metal that will melt your damn face. Thanks for posting this.
i dont think they could find a better replacement
beardog666 Agreed

Halford just great screaming? Have you listened to Halford's discography? Tim Owens is a great singer, but Rob Halford is in a league of his own.
That guitar riff wow!
Wow is right
Ripper Owens kicked ass with Priest....despite certain so called opinions he brought a freshness and raw edge to the band that wasn't there for a good while...RIPPER we love your music with Priest and your solo efforts...keep kicking major ASS!!!!
he was just as good as Rob IMHO
@@wesNYC he is better than rob imho, but he's no judas priest material. rob is epic.
The hangman's noose won't get me
Gas chambers never stress me
They can line me up against the wall
No firing squad will make me
Confess or even break me
I'll stand alone or not at all
I will not obey
I will not betray
I will not give in
Not while I'm living
No surrender
We never will surrender
We are all dead meat
Cut us, watch us bleed
No shackles made will chain me
No endless pain will change me
The scars will testify this all
No solitary confinement
Will break my strong resignment
I'll die before I will conform
I will not obey
I will not betray
I will not give in
Not while I'm living
No surrender
There'll never be surrender
We are all dead meat
Cut us, watch us bleed
Read in my obituary
Defiance breeds victory
No cage they make can hold me
No law enforced controls me
No trap that's sprung stops me for long
No prison cell contains me
No snare they set will claim me
Relentlessly I'll fight them all
I will not obey
I will not betray
I will not give in
Not while I'm living
No surrender
We never will
Be driven asunder
No surrender
We never will
Raise the white flag
We are all dead meat
Cut us, watch us bleed
We are all dead meat
Cut us, watch us bleed
Indoctrination
Will never
Suppress me
They're seriously mistaken
'Cause I'll take them
Down with me
And just before they're finished
They'll scream along with me
We are all dead meat
I'm getting metalocalypse vibes from this
I love this album so much
Me too
Ya same here.
This album is great !! I would dare to say is a masterpiece !! And ripper owens sings perfectly in this album....
first Judas priest album i ever listened to was that double live album. the second one was Jugulator. It was released around the time when i was a teen and was just getting into metal and i kinda just listened to what my pops did. you forgot the shadow warrior and doom. those were the days..
This album kicks ass!
Still one of the best
Very underrated
Un gran disco, bastante incomprendido allá por el 97 por los fans de siempre de Priest; tracks como: Catedral Spires, Decapite, Blood Stained... son verdaderas ejecuciones violentas de metal.
Burn in Hell es brutal!
Love this song! The song of a Patriot!
Rob said he liked what they were doing so I love ripper and rob
So you don’t have an opinion? 🤔
KK should just dispense with the back and forth, get together with Tim Owens and Les Binks and two other guys, call it Dead Meat or something, write some kick ass new songs in this vein and tour on that and songs from Jugulator and Demolition....BAM!
I thought that Tim and KK should get together as well .
They should just name it Jugulator lol. Hell is Home or Bullet Train would cool too though.
HOW ABOUT ROB AND TIM( DUAL VOCALISTS// JUST AS GLENN AND K.K. WERE DUAL GUITARISTS// IMAGINE THAT???
Maybe they'll call it KK's Steel Mill? Who knows.
You got your wish
Great Priest Album( Tim" Ripper"Owens) Another Metal God// I Love Rob and Tim's Amazing Vocal Range \,,,/
Great Album -Epic!🤘👽
Amazing song and album
so heavy and deep !!!
4:29 Ian Hill!
Saw this tour. The Priest Beast crushed it. \m/\m/
Others mention Pantera, but I get strong Slayer vibes from this, especially in the vocals. In the couplets it really sounds like Araya.
God Hates us All era Slayer with heavier riffs
Strong Riff
love it
Este album está ala altura del painkiller si halford lo hubiera cantado seguro los fans lo adorarian
Definitivamente
I like this album, but it’s quite terrifying😰
Great!
I am always like it this start and song is really great!!!
I think this is the best song on jugulator
Oh yeah, remindes me to fucking good old head banging times.
Intro sounds like fucking Cannibal Corpse holy shit
Ripper era priest is like fucking slayer mixed with anthrax.
great brutal album love it
Heavy / Groove Metal
this song is pure thrash metal, latter version of thrash to be clear
in late 90's thrash was basically dead and even proper thrash bands were doing drop-tuned/detuned thrash riffs with groove metal elements sinking in
☠️ if "Ripper" ever needs a side gig, your more than welcome to moonlight with our band anytime!!!
✨💀H-8 Inc.💀✨🤘🤘
I hired him on my stuff, he rocks! 100 percent would recommend
FIGHT THEM ALL \m/\m/
I wanna get the words "DEAD MEAT" tattooed onto my knuckles.
if I was able to give no fucks, I'd totally do that.
if im ever going to prison... Im deff getting it... and then "Jugulator" tattooed on the throat
If you don't now what this song means you haven't been there or I don't won't to now you
👊👊👊
No corona virus will take me
It's the government which is the biggest issue.
sounds like the guy from forbidden a bit
Yeah lowkey
well, if there's anything on my bucket list.. it would be rob halford with priest doing this song. i know he can do it. and i know he secretly likes this song too. all other owens priest, i find it crap, but this song is a gem.
Every other song Owens recorded with Priest is crap apart from this one? That's certainly an odd view to hold.
Pantera overload!
Mix heavy/thrash/groove.
They sound like Slayer. Better actually.
This album completely discredited the careers of Slayer and Pantera.
No
They do not sound like slayer and judas priest will never be better than slayer. Slayer have a better drummer, a better singer way better guitarists and bassist as well.
