Cleavon was a great actor. I never realized that he was only 53,when he passed. That indeed is sad. Thank you for your entertaining & informative videos.
I know that it is either unpopular or overlooked, but I enjoyed Fletch Lives! with him and Chevy Chase. So many good one-liners, and of course Cleavon delivers his like a boss.
Darn, I did not know that. I am old and retired. Watched everything he was in. Talented, did so many characters well. He reminded me of Sidney Poitier, the way he could get into character. RIP, sir
Temperatures Rising was my favorite 🤩 comedy show . In 1973 I was in High School. I’m not certain but I think this show only lasted one season. The way they dealt with patients in a hospital in a hilarious manner. I’ve never seen any of the reruns since the show aired in 1973. Cleavon Little was very hilarious in that show. He also did well in Blazing Saddles a Black Sheriff in the Old West. With his comedic role he knocked that performance out of the ballpark. 53 years of age is in a way young to die. If it would be possible this is a comedian and actor they need to bring back. He was great with the roles he was given.
What a fine tribute and great video, thanks Steve. 🎉 Gee I sure loved Cleavon Little, I'm still surprised Temperatures Rising wasn't a hit, he WAS that show! And of course, Blazing Saddles I was 12 when my older brother took me to see that I laughed so hard I almost had a stroke. God bless you and RIP Cleavon 😊❤
Cleavon Little was brilliant in Blazing Saddles. He and Gene Wilder seemed to have an amazing rapport, I just watched the film again recently and many thanks for your informative video.
He was great as one of Rockford's private investigator friends in season 3, episode 13 "Sticks and Stones May Break Your Bones, But Waterbury Will Bury You". I hoped to see him in more episodes but, there was only this one.
Thanks Steve. Cleavon was really spectacular! When I saw the 'Cotton comes to Harlem' poster, I saw Godfrey Cambridge's name. He was another amazing actor/comedian, and he definitely had a sad ending. If you've never done a video about him, please do.
Aside: Hey, thx for showing us Rance Howard! I read Ron's book, love how Rance was w his sons, and his hardworking neverending pursuit of work in the biz.
Nice SG behind you. I wasn't a fan of blazing saddles but his guy was in a lot of different things. I remember seeing him on all the TV shows for years.
Cleavon Little was hilarious in _Temperatures Rising_ and _Blazing Saddles._ May I request a video on his co-star, the talented and funny Madeline Kahn?
After watching entire video, I likely DID see Cleavon in some of those programs mentioned. Especially The Rockford Files. A terrible way to pass. 53. Same age as my own Dad when he passed back in 1988. We're NEVER guaranteed even the next second. Rest Peacefully, Cleavon.
@@TheLifeandSadEnding for the older folks like you and me it seems new every time :-) it’s not that I’m forgetting. I just choose not to remember. Keep up the good work. It’s excellent. Keep doing this fight the good fight.
I remember Cleavon!! Not from any of the other roles mentioned. Rather, that All in the Family episode. According to Archie's neighbor, McNabb, Cleavon is one two "jiggerboos" who had knocked off a jewelry outlet and were hiding out in the neighborhood.🤣 The other crook is the guy who was Lamont on Sanford and Son. WONDERFUL episode. I think that episode was titled "Edith writes a song." Those sure were the days. I knew Cleavon had passed. Didn't remember when or how. Thanks for the upload. Rob 🤗🤣
Love watching your videos, always such nostalgia, taking me back to my favorite names faces and actors of the past. Keep up the great work looking forward to more of your excellent content. Thank you.
Thanks!
Wow, Thanks a lot Bruce!
What a terrific actor
I didn’t know he had so much superb stage experience as well as killer movies & so much TV! Colon cancer is a monster. Rest in peace, Cleavon.

I am 53 now. My dad died at age 54. I know my time in this world might be short.
That's too young. I'm sorry for your loss.@@donkique956
Always liked this young man
Another great life cut short!!
I know that it is either unpopular or overlooked, but I enjoyed Fletch Lives! with him and Chevy Chase. So many good one-liners, and of course Cleavon delivers his like a boss.
May his soul rest in peace. Cleavon brought much joy to us.
Darn, I did not know that. I am old and retired. Watched everything he was in. Talented, did so many characters well. He reminded me of Sidney Poitier, the way he could get into character. RIP, sir
Cleavon Little was in Blazing Saddles. So funny. I did not know he won a Tony thanks for sharing.
Liked him in Vanishing Point, Blazing Saddles, and The Homecoming. Thanks for another great post Steve.
I saw Vanishing Point when I was about 13. The violence sickened me.
Cleavon was a talented man. Thank you Steve
Just found your channel last evening, have watched about twenty episodes so far and remember every subject fondly.
Thanks Barbara!
Excuse me while I whip this out...best line ever..
So much ❤for the highly talented Cleavon Little!
He?
Was so funny in blazing saddles , thank you
A wonderful tribute to a memorable person. Thank you.

Damn I remember watching couple of his movies

I always enjoy and share your videos. Thank you.
We forget these actors get old, in our minds they are still young😊

RIP to a wonderful comedic actor. Blazing Saddles would not have been as good a movie without him.
Thanks Steve. Cleavon was really spectacular! When I saw the 'Cotton comes to Harlem' poster, I saw Godfrey Cambridge's name. He was another amazing actor/comedian, and he definitely had a sad ending. If you've never done a video about him, please do.
That is just too young, though it looks like he made the most of his life and career. Talented man, and good video.
WOW! That was HIM in the ALF X-Mass Special! Too Cool!
Such a charming talent.
Aside: Hey, thx for showing us Rance Howard! I read Ron's book, love how Rance was w his sons, and his hardworking neverending pursuit of work in the biz.
😮how did I miss this one
53? Oh my! I really enjoyed his work. I watched temperatures rising, but don't remember it. May he be resting in peace. 🙏
Thanks for the information, Steve. 👍
You bet!
Thank you
Nice SG behind you. I wasn't a fan of blazing saddles but his guy was in a lot of different things. I remember seeing him on all the TV shows for years.
I always like to keep my audience riveted.
Good one.
Blazing saddles was great
He was on a series called Tempatures rising
He was funny in that also
Very interesting man
Fuck, loved him.
Superb vid. You have a tremendous voice. You have an ASMR voice.
Wow, thank you! I put myself to sleep all the time.
I enjoy your videos, thanks for making them. Could you please consider doing one on Eric Fleming or Vivian Vance?
Cleavon Little was hilarious in _Temperatures Rising_ and _Blazing Saddles._ May I request a video on his co-star, the talented and funny Madeline Kahn?
Great on broadway too

He missed a lot of Mel Brooks movies that Cleavon played in and was famous for.
I was the first like you’re posting machine keep up the good work
Recycle repeat.

If you came to your own sad ending *don't!* who would do your story?
🙏🙏
I'm a fan of Cleavon and Bagdad Cafe ids on of my favorites, but I don't think that Cleavon had even an uncredited role in the film.
53 is too young.
His birthplace was Chickasha not Chickasaw. It's pronounced Chick-ah-Shay. Chickasha also is where I live. Excellent video by the way.
Oops. Sorry about that. I told you I read every comment!
The proper way to say the city he was born in is "Chick-a-Sha" with a long A at the end, not "Chickasaw"
Cleavon replaced Richard Pryor because Pryor was too "controversial"; and shall live forever bcause of that......
That's too young
