You seem to misunderstand Lady Fani Willis is not on trial as a defendant, she is in court as a witness. There is a world of difference, you know? Finally, the judge seemed to prevent the lawyers from speaking because the lawyers had been asking irrelevant questions throughout the court presetting. I'll be perfectly honest in closing, had Lady Fani Willis not been a woman of color this would not have happened!
You don't seem to understand that none of these people answering question are on trial, they are witnesses. There are 3 or 4 people asking questions and most of them have tried to ask the same question in a different form of tricky way. If you think Fani Willis, her father or Nathan Wade have done anything illegal, I fail to see how you can possibly look past Donald Trumps criminal activities.

Ok, so this isn’t about their affair. This is about ethics. They are saying (which is a stretch by the way) that by her hiring him to do contract work and carrying a relationship with him that she in turn benefited from the contract or funds paid to him from his contract. They are trying to show that she is corrupt by accepting gifts and trips from him and that those gifts and trips were paid for by money he received from his contract with the DA’s office. The same office that she runs. Essentially they’re saying that she is double dipping and benefiting financially from her relationship with Mr. Wade and that is a conflict of interest. She is a smart lady, but you would think that she should have seen this one coming.

This judge is a joke! He keeps this line of questioning in the strict and narrow, but then lets Fani Willis walk in and steamroll the entire proceeding. Ridiculous.
That isn't a good thing for her. If a judge is giving you excess latitude like that, it often means that he is setting a record against bias because he is planning to screw you over in the actual decision. This way, he gets to claim "I let you say whatever you wanted to, even when you crossed the line, so how are you calling me biased now?"

@@xxcelr8rs No, she isn't his boss (the DA isn't responsible for the judiciary). He was her employee for a while in the DA office, but that ended when he got his position. You saw her on the stand--what are the odds that she did something to piss him off when he was working under her?
Also, Bradley was called in to give his full testimony in chambers, regardless of privilege, and that could end EXTREMELY badly. Fani tried to use fake obstruction accusations to silence the ex-wife, and so what are the odds that she is holding the SA accusations over Bradley's head to keep him from talking (ie. claim privilege or we charge you for the SA)? He clearly can't be motivated by his license, as that was gone the moment it came out he leaked to Merchant. Bradley has no choice but to spill to the judge, and, if it comes out that the DA office threatened a witness to cover up personnel misconduct, this could get nuclear levels of bad, really quickly.
The only way I could see the judge not removing her and Wade is if he is partisan. The evidence is there already, and failing to do so just puts a magnifying glass on Fulton County that I don't think anybody in local power wants. That said, if he is going to remove her, he has an incentive to make it stick in a permanent way, to avoid retaliation (ie. go for her job, license, and career, rather than just her spot in this case).

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 - I agree. I have degrees in Paralegal studies as well as criminal justice and some of these questions Merchant are asking have had NOTHING to do with anything. Wade had to ask her the same question 3 times before she finally figured out what he was asking. I and others probably caught on the first time he asked. I don't believe she has ever tried anything of this magnitude and decided to use some of her old tactics in going a backdoor way to get charges dropped or cases dismissed. A couple of Esquire friends of mine said Merchant doesn't have the skillset to go up against Fani. If this ruling goes in favor of the Fulton County DAs office, Merchant may have made a mistake because Fani might take over the case during trial. We'll see.

After watching Fani Willis duck and dodge so many very simple questions, and the manner she tries to do so makes me think every case she has ever been involved with needs to be examined.
How is Fani Willis a DA? She can not even follow the most basic rules of court conduct by squarely answering the questions being asked of her without muddying up the water with a load of extra words and information that have nothing to do with any of the actual questions?
An innocent person that believed they did nothing wrong would not behave this way.
Anyone who has ever watched a police interrogation video that includes a good commentary along with it would know that Fani Willis is attempting to be deceptive.

Everything has it's opportunity to be said, in the proper order in which the questions are asked.
Anything less is chaos and that is exactly what Fani Willis was attempting to create.
She was repeatedly attempting to reframe absolutely every question asked rather than simply giving what was simple yes or no answers to those questions.
As a DA, Fani Willis knows that her lawyers will have the opportunity to address any questions they want when it is they're turn to do so, yet she behaved this way, as if she is clueless as to how court proceedings are conducted.
Fani Willis has no business being in a place of authority over anything involving the law or the courts, and how she got in her position as a DA is beyond me and makes me question everything about her after watching her in action here.
She was completely unprofessional.
There is not a lawyer or judge in the country that would say she conducted herself in a professional capacity here.

If someone is paid by a public body for work completed, in what way does it remain public funds? I worked in public higher education for many years. Was I using public funds? News to me. I thought I was receiving my salary.
I think the scope of their questioning drills down to how someone with no previous experience prosecuting or investigating a high profile RICO case managed to get the job and get paid over $650,000 while working on it, when other more experienced prosecutors were paid less according to records. Then to discover that he and the person who hired him were having a sexual relationship while he was married still and he was taking her on trips seems to indicate that she was receiving benefits from the public money that she paid him for a job that he was hired to do by her.
