    Best Rachio install video I've seen ! Jeff doesn't zoom though or skip sections. He goes through each section meticulously. Great job!

    I just bought the Rachio 3 from Costco and the weatherproof box from Amazon. I'm going to install it this weekend. Thank you for the video.

    Great job explaining how this works! I just had this installed and couldn’t figure out how to program it after I did the initial setup. Thank you so much! You should write manuals for a living!! You walked us through it in a way that is so easy to understand, clear and concise instructions! You are an amazing teacher!

    I am going to replace my Rainbird controller with a Rachio 3 controller, i love all the features you have described in your video. We bought a new house that has a sprinkler system, and it seems cumbersome to figure it out, whereas the Rachio is pretty straight forward. Plus the twelve zone model is on sale at Costco for $149.95
    To prevent water from entering into the controller, you should have ran a bead of silicone on the top and sides, and leave the bottom open for drainage.

    Excellent video. I’m putting in a new sprinkler system this control seems to be the right choice. App looks well done.
    Thanks

    • @jeffostroff
      @jeffostroff  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the app is awesome and it is almost 100% accurate when it says it's going to skip due to rain because it goes online and gets the weather from AccuWeather

      With all this rain we've had in September and October, it has skipped raining dozens of times, and it's 100% accurate about it.

    I DID IT!! thank you so much for the video, it was very helpful. The whole process I would say was technically simple, but it took WAY more than 20 minutes for me!
    I had an old Orbit that I just could never get the hang of working it, plus it was installed in a very awkward spot. I have outside unit, so I ordered the enclosure. The install there was a little tricky for me (stucco, broke a drill bit, but I did finally find the correct drill bit to use). I thought I would hard-wire it, but it turned out it was not set up for that. I took the opportunity to relocate the unit to a more convenient spot, and since the wires coming out of the ground were looking raggedy (and the wire would now be too short), I switched out a longer length of wire from the ground to the unit, making sure to match up all the colors.
    The set up was way simple, that took no effort, but your video did give me the confidence to try this myself. My neighbor will be upset I didn't wait for him to do it, but I'm sure he'll be over to 'check' my work anyway :). The unit powered up beautifully, I had no errors.
    Im going to need to work with the schedule to see what works well for me. The system came up with a 45 minute watering schedule, and 3.5 hours on my drip line. That's way too much, even for summer in Southern CA. But I love that I can just go to my phone and turn things on. Thank you again, I will probably need to check out your other videos for around the house!

    Hey I know you're a busy man but you definitely know what deals are best right now looking at buying my father a new impact drill and drive drill and I can't really figure out which is the best deal right now. Sure atomic but I don't want to buy my dad anything atomic. I did see the 998 flex volt with an impact driver as well but that's $300. trying to figure out what might be the best $199 deal to get a free tool.... this way I get a little something out of the deal too I know some of these deals seem great but then you realize they have the crappy as batteries available

    • @jeffostroff
      @jeffostroff  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      homedepot.sjv.io/oxykO This is the best one that I can come up with for you with that price range because the better ones are all well over $200 but this atomic kit is not too bad in it is $80.00 off on sale right now too

    • @jeffostroff
      @jeffostroff  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it is plugged into the "C" slot. There are 2 "C" slots on this controller and I plugged into the right side "C" slot which is colored white. It looks like it's on Slot #8, but it's due to the angle of the camera, look at the rest of them, it looks like the connectors are one away from their respective slots.

    Hey Jeff please explain better how to apply for Lowe’s coupon for Home Depot and the reason why Lowe’s do that ( competition or what)
    Why why why haha have a great day boss

    • @jeffostroff
      @jeffostroff  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We buy 10% off Lowe's coupons on eBay. You search for “Lowe's 10% off coupons”. I pay about $10 or so for 20of them. Make sure that the expiration date is a good six months out so you have time to use them. They have been used at Lowe's already so you cannot use them there you can only use them at Home Depot as a competitor match and Home Depot cannot scan the Lowes proprietary barcode they just have something on their register that applies the Lowe's 10% off discount
