So where are my people pleasers at!?!? I started therapy 6 months ago and my mindset has changed so much. I was reaching a low point and thought I was never going to be who I was before. But because of it I’m thriving!!! Do it!!!!
I have been a people pleaser as a child and I have never stopped. I continue to do things for others (that I don’t want to do) just to make THEM happy. I have tried therapy but I continue to feel like a horrible person if I tell someone NO!!
My mom (thank goodness) noticed that I struggled w anxiety and OCD very early on. She put me in therapy right after my tenth birthday and was in therapy for around a year and a half. I'm fourteen now and am so grateful to my mom for putting me in therapy. It is definitely something everyone should try!!
@@wam6465 I still have a tough time saying no to people, but I bring it up with my therapist. I’m not perfect at it because I’m even experiencing burn out currently, but it’s super important to continue to work on those things. Wishing you all the best ❤️

Whenever I see people realizing "Hey, Therapy isn't only for people who actively suffer. Maybe I could need that too." I have to smile. My mom is a therapist so I grew up with that knowledge and awareness. And to see people embracing these tools is really great!

It is also called as Cognitive dissonance When your behaviors arent aligned with your beliefs it produces mental discomfort leading you to saying Yes instead of No to avoid such discomfort. Seeking help is never a weakness. Im glad influencers like you are open to topics like this.

CLAUDIA! hearing you talk about the unconscious tools that you built up to protect yourself as a child and how they translate to behaviors today is the CRUX of what therapy is about. my heart is so full of joy from hearing you start on this life changing, lifelong journey. there will be many days when you dread your therapy sessions, but as someone who has been in therapy for two years now, i can confirm that it is worth it. learning these things about yourself will not only revolutionize your relationship with yourself, but also your relationships with others. it is one of the best things that you can do to be a mindful steward of those relationships and the ultimate act of love and care for the self and those who love you.

My thoughts on therapy: even if you had a perfect life, well-balanced, best case scenario possible, you will still have an issue that you could work on, because our minds are so vast and it's like a machine, some pieces need fixing every now and then. Also, every issue is important, it's not because you didn't have much trauma in your life that your problems are less important. There are a lot of therapists in the world, you seeking one won't take away from someone who "needs" it. That's the mindset I try to stick to so I can stick to therapy.

Therapy is amazing! No matter where you are in your life I’m such a huge advocate for it. I think it’s so important to help give perspective and to help learn that experience the whole scope of emotions from anger to happiness is so important. That one lends to another and that each one should be welcomed. It’s such a great tool to help learn and understand navigating that and so much more
Thank you for promoting therapy and self awareness!! I have gone to therapy off and on since I was a teenager, even though I am very emotionally stable as well. I've inspired and helped quite literally close to a hundred people over the years get into therapy and its one of the most rewarding things I've ever done!
Yay for therapy! I also highly recommend taking the Enneagram personality test! It’s so helpful to further learn about yourself and understand why you are the way you are and why you do certain things. It’s such a great tool.
i've been attending therapy on and off for about 3 years and i can confirm it's one of the best things you can do for yourself. so many people i know have that "i don't have anything to talk about" mentality but Trust me... even in the most uneventful week you'll go into a session and end up sobbing and learning 400 things that you could be doing better. so glad to hear you're trying it out and that it's working for you claudia, keep it up
i relate so much to your reasons why you thought you didn’t need therapy. I’ve kind of all had all this pent up trauma just stuck in my head for so long and it never really bothered me. I would put it to the side and be happy most of the time, knowing that all of this trauma never really bothered me. now realizing that even though I have no mental illness or anything from that trauma, it’s still good to go to therapy because maybe it’ll open up something new in me and make me realize stuff about myself.

Therapy is absolutely amazing for most ppl! But just a small distinction, I don’t believe it is always the answer for everyone! Some people that are not in the right place to get the most out of it might not be ready for that type of processing. I just learned that recently tho! I always thought “who wouldn’t appreciate talking through their problems w a trained professional?” 😂 luv ya claudia!❤️❤️

Claudia I feel like you and I are very similair in the way we handle conflict. Its that thing isn't of you don't want to say no to people because you feel like you're letting them down and creating a false reality rather than taking a step back and actually looking at the bigher picture. Sometimes being 'selfish' can be a really good thing. I'm glad you are doing this for yourself. Its a really tough thing to process but I'm really proud of you man 🥰
