    This is disgraceful. Your telling me, he faces execution, on the statement of this killer. Now what is going on here. No other evidence, just the say so, of the actual killer. And this stands up in court ?????

      Matt Pannell: pressure from the public and the urge to punish someone for the crime, makes some overarchieving policemen to make false statements, make assumptions and rumours into facts. Sometimes they even let evidence diappear.

      The death penalty is politically motivated by those who want to stay elected. If the opinions of the populace changes so wiil the politics behind it.

    With this much doubt surrounding his innocence OR his involvement, the death sentence should be taken off the table and the sentence commuted to life imprisonment and the case re-investigated thoroughly.

    • @TrojansFirst
      @TrojansFirst 8 ปีที่แล้ว +27

      Mindrolling i agree... death sentence should only be used when we can be certain. Theres no certainty with this case.

      I used to be an avid believer in the Death Penalty but now I sit on that proverbial fence. I know some people can never change and will always be raping murderers. However, the more I learn about how many innocent men have been released since the advent of DNA is one reason I am now on that fence.

    • @mperry1329
      @mperry1329 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I agree, this really is a very sloppy case and with out true solid evidence and botched investigative techniques. The death penalty should be taken off the table and just to allow Glossip to serve his time. The reason that I do not say "release him" is because of the window incident when he replaces the window and does not enter the room where this murder has taken place after Sneed told him that he killed Mr. Van Treese. That is where I seriously question Glossip's innocence. It is a fouled case all the way around.

    • @PatchedThePipe

    So the guy that ACTUALLY took someone’s life gets to live but the guy that did not kill someone is scheduled to die ?? That’s the bottom line , wether he planed it or not he did not take the life . So how’s that justice?? Daaa. lets keep the killer and feed him 3 times a day, house him, cloth him, give him medical treatment , tv , free workout for the rest of his life and kill the the person that did not actually kill anyone.. wow that makes since to smart people??

    what I find astounding they are basing their evidence on the word of someone who " killed the guy" and wants to lack responsibility . and if the guy was asked to kill someone he should have gone to the cops . yes we want justice for the victim and family but is it justice if the wrong person is jailed?

      In a different situation, it would make sense, for example, a person on trial hires a hitman to murder a witness, both of them could and should be held responsible. In this case though, with no evidence, it should never have been brought forward.

He just got lucky because California went through a short period in the 70's where they abolished the DP, so his sentence got commuted to life (along with all other California death row inmates during that time). That's the *only* reason Manson is still alive!

    I can't understand how a man, to which evidence prove did not commit a murder, is being sentenced to death. I dont even think the death penalty should be there.
    Im from the uk, we dont have the death penalty, we dont have guns, and we dont have gun violence that kills. The worst people, the worst of them, they deserve to be severely punished. In my own opinion, this man should not be killed. Because thats what they do, kill people, guilty or not.

    • @jennaglitz6045
      @jennaglitz6045 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with stopping the death penalty but I'm glad I can defend myself. And I'm glad that murders in the US are often a quick gunshot wound, unlike the psychotic stories I hear about Europe (especially the UK and Germany) when they kill they SLAUGHTER slicing necks, limbs, genitals, practice cannibalism, torture, sodomy, long slow deaths... is it because they don't have access to guns, or because they're extra weird? The world may never know

    • @jennaglitz6045
      @jennaglitz6045 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      And even if they don't abolish the death penalty, it makes me sick knowing they have sentenced people who are innocent beyond a reasonable doubt or who lack hard evidence... if there's even a slight doubt there should be no thought of killing a human being when it may be an innocent being

    • @jennaglitz6045
      @jennaglitz6045 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tbh I don't see the difference between public lynchings and the DP. People love to talk about how progressive we are, how advanced and how great our judicial system is... meanwhile they acknowledge that old school lynchings, beatings, firing squad, etc were all too "cruel and unusual," but apparently telling someone they will die in X amount of years, dragging it out as long as possible, murdering them in front of loved ones and family, and sometimes even slip ups where they suffer immense pain or don't die... that doesn't seem like progress. It seems exactly the same as the barbaric practices we all criticise.

  • @HerdyBert

    How the murder victim's widow can say that she'll find justice in the execution of a potentially innocent man is just astonishing, just as much as the fact that it appears to sway the decision of the court. Emotion should play no part in the application of the law, especially when that emotion is the desire for revenge.

Or the Death Penalty in the U.S. compared to other countries and how that is working for them compared to us.

      Richard Glossip is innocent. I represented Richard Glossip as well as the real mastermind behind Barry Van Treese's death whom I simply call the "Drug Dealer". That is why I can say he is innocent.

    It's horrifying to see people who are in positions of authority and power who are so clearly morally unfit to hold those positions.
    Many of them don't really have the brains that they were born with, or an ounce of decency about them.
    I reckon that Susan Sarandon was probably correct the first time when she called the Governor of Oklahoma a horrible person, but because of how petty the Govenor likely is she's been forced to retract the statement even though she knows it to be perfectly true.😖

This world just sick I hope he gets out. Some cases are death some aren't and there are worse murders and the people live. It's a sad world.

    This is horrible :-( Ok, we are getting used to be manipulated by the media and I really hope there´s some clear evidence that put this guy on death row, that we wasn´t shown in the video.. But even so, I wouldn´t be surprised if he´s actually 100% not guilty and the murderer is just willing to say anything to get life instead of death - Even if that means blaming the other guy.

  • @chelleweatherspoon2226
    @chelleweatherspoon2226 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    They should set him free. What they did was unconstitutional. They have to prove beyond reasonable doubt and the person responsible for the conviction is the actual killer who escaped death penalty by accusing him. It's crazy that this can happen.

    What a hero reporter - every since seeing Fourteen Days In May back in the 80's I have been firmly against capital punishment.
    Anyone interested in helping peoplt on death row can help buy donating to charities like Reprieve a charity which was started by the lawyer who was in the TV documentary Fourteen Days In May.

    The level of incompetence by the prison execution officials is absolutely staggering.
    Who the hell is running these events?
    Yosemite Sam or Mr Magoo?
    It's one thing to notice that they have the wrong drugs and something else entirely to wait over 90 minutes more before informing people.
