There was an encounter between the avatar of Ynnead and Ariman, where two rubric marines are reverted back into flesh, they both appear uncorrupted and completely confused as to what’s going on, before they are killed. Ariman, for a short moment, is filled with joy and hope at seeing the two returned, only to despair and go into fury when they are killed. It was a strangely touching moment.

Ok, fine, but the Thousand Sons were made Egyptian-y prior to when they even introduced the Necrons as Egyptian-y, I believe. Could be wrong.
Dubious technically yes. I was there, the day necrons were merely space terminators with maybe one or two Egyptian-esque building or units

I've always preferred the version that the emperor sent the space wolves to prospero to bring Magnus back to earth for trial but Horus manipulates there orders to attack instead

I think you were unfamiliar with the 30k Thousand Sons books when you made this vid :) There are a few nuances you omitted.
Here are a few things that I believe are important:
1. Magnus started off with two eyes. It was only later that Magnus traded his eye so that the rampant flesh-change that was engulfing his legion when he finally met them for the first time would stop. That was his first open bargain with Tzeentch. He still did not realize what Tzeentch was. This deal was broken when the wolves came to Prospero - the flesh change returned anew.
2. Ahriman had seen his twin brother succumb to the fleshchange and turn into a chaos spawn in front of his eyes. He had also started suffering from it when Magnus cured the legion with the Tzeentchian bargain. Hence why Ahriman is particularly motivated to try and cure his legion.
3. Initially the Emperor sent Russ to detain Magnus and bring him for a trial on Terra, but Horus interceded without the knowledge of the Emperor and had Russ go in for the kill instead.
4. Magnus intentionally disabled all long range defences of Prospero and blinded his scriers to the incoming fleet. He purposely did not harm the fleet of Russ and the Sisters of Silence while they were in the warp (even though he could have annihilated them there singlehandedly) because of the guilt he felt from destroying his father's great webway project (which his dad so conveniently failed to mention to him, along with the knowledge of the chaos gods' existence, but oh well!). Once the orbital bombardment started, he couldn't really stop the legion telekines from projecting their permanent shield around Tizca. The shield held out a bombardment that obliterated the entire remainer of the planet, forcing the wolves' ground invasion.
5. Ahriman cast the Rubrik using Magnus' great grimoire, however, he did not know that Tzeentch had had one of his comrades alter a single letter in the book - it is implied that this might have been the cause of the Rubrik's "failure".
6. Ahriman was none too happy about his blunder with the first Rubrik. Eventually, as you've read, he recovered from his melancholy, ended his exile, and cast a perfected second Rubrik, which would have potentially succeeded, had the Inquisition, a rogue sorcerer, half the Thousand Sons, Tzeentch, and Magnus himself not been actively sabotaging him. Even so, it produced one perfectly restored marine - Helio Isidorus.
I still think I'm missing a few things. but this is the most important stuff that comes to mind. Great video though!

My understanding of the difference between rune priests and psykers is that rune priests use their runes as channels and Fenris as a filter for warp energy. If Magnus calmed down for a second and asked Russ if he could learn the ways of Rune Priests then Magnus could have used the same filtering method for his Sorcery. Then if he when out and declared himself and his sons as “Sand Priests” the Emperor most likely would not have had a problem with them.

Prospero is sadly not worth retaking. It took a beating when the wolves came, and then when Ahriman had a run in with the Inquisition it got even more royally obliterated.

My favorite traitor legion is definitely a toss up between alpha legion and thousand sons.
Particularly because they actually have some strange and compelling traits to their character, instead of just being eye-rollingly basic villains.

You're literally my fav podcaster (is that a thing!?) But I've been listening on Spotify. I've been trying to brush up on lore and find things to listen to on my Chapter (Blood Angels) (and without the narrator either sounding disinterested or quiet!)
However, I've now listened to nearly everything on 40k lore that I'm interested in on your page! Your voice and delivery are amazing! I'd like you to narrate every thing I want to read....including road books and probably my daily routine! Doing much more? I find youtube hard to navigate! Keep it going....Please! >.

I don't understand why you didn't mention all of the tragic parts of this story. That Magnus destroyed the Emperor's efforts to use the webway gates for humanity, when he tried to warn his father. That this resulted in a demonic invasion and heavy losses on terra. And that Magnus didn't tell his sons about the coming of the Wolves as penitence for what he had done. That he sent his fleet away and so on.
And that it was (probably/surely) Horus who changed Russ' orders to 'by all means necessary'.
That is a vital part of understanding Magnus and shows the whole tragedy.
Last time I was this early, the Emperor still had skin.

I love the novel where Magnus destroys Fennris with a couple of adtroids and the Space Wolves become a fleet bound chapter. Good times( I'm joking obviously)

there are no wolves on fenris. magnus was right, imagine embracing and mastering psychic gifts and be aware of its dangers, learned by every human (like ahriman did with the remembrancer in the book and the imperium does in the 40th millenium - sanctioned psykers). thousand sons best sons

The rubric wasnt even Ahriman's, it was orchestrated by the warring Shards of Magnus so it was the "Father" shard of Magnus that allowed the rubric to happen. Magnus destroyed the legion not Ahriman tf.
Magnus did nothing wrong except refuse to admit when he was wrong about the Warp. If he had refrained from practicing sorcery and saw the dangers it has, the Council of Nikea would probably have only banned sorcery and still allowed pure psychic stuff. Then he wouldn’t have been manipulated into breaking the wards around the Golden Throne and the whole Heresy would have gone down VERY differently.

Ignorance is no excuse to the law that said I don’t understand the magnus did nothing wrong argument because as I understand it that argument is said that magnus had only good intentions and was ignorant of the consequences of his actions but as I said ignorance is no excuse and some of the worst things ever done where done with the “best intentions”
