- Winning the 2019 Norcal Premier State Cup Final on June 2, 2019 propelled Atletico Santa Rosa '01/'00 Bayern into the US Club Soccer National Finals Cup in Commerce City, Colorado, July 19-23, 2019. Ranked no. 1 in the USA on Gotsoccer.com as they entered the tournament, Atletico were well-prepared to represent Norcal Premier as they competed in the top "Super Group" of 12 teams. They played teams from New York, New Hampshire, Illinois and Florida (more videos to come!). Led by longtime coach Oscar Deniz, Bayern’s style of play was a joy to watch. It was a true team effort, as for most of the games, they dominated possession, playing out of the back, and moving up the field with quick one-touch passes complemented by bursts of individual and collective creativity. They played in 100 degree heat in game one, and had game two postponed, then halted due to a lightning storm before restarting. After tieing game 3 (the only game they didn't win), they went on to win in the semi-final 4-2, before advancing to the Final. They started slow, allowing 3 goals in the first half, before pulling one back just before the first-half whistle. The comeback was on! Two more Bayern goals followed in the 2nd half, sending the game into overtime, then penalties. The rest is history!

That game could have gone either way, for sure.
This was a good team, we did not play on 2019 but the year before that we beat them 5 -2 in Davis my team (Anaheim FC) we were unstoppable that year. I was disappointed at what bad sports some of the players were and some of the parents. We then again beat them at the Cerritos Memorial Cup the following year.
