Nice, Wizards finally found some commentators that can actually tell their ass from their elbow and they seem to have managed to find functioning cameras this time. Oh wait, it's because it's all handled by SCG!
As I was watching I decided to increase the speed of the video, and moments later: "Brian Braun-Duin brainstorms and puts back 2 cards very quickly." - I had to laugh.
Hell no Infect is all ready one of the strongest creature abilities of all time and is one of the most hated effects in Magic just like Dredge and Storm.
This was a really interesting match to watch, loved it. Love legacy, modern, vintage. I wish they would reprint so many of those cards, so that more players could afford to play. I'm not even asking for these cards to be standard legal, I just want more things like modern masters, at an affordable price. Like, seriously, even at $10 a pack I would buy that stuff up just because those cards are so fun.
I feel like these commentators have a bias for Tom, I understand if they like Tom more or their trying to root for the "underdog" (loosely speaking) of the matchup because he hasn't won a grand prix yet. However, I did want to see how both sides of the matchup were doing.
It's actually a pretty powerful deck. Just had bad luck. The deck can win in turn 2-3 when not disrupted. Plus counter spells help it defend its creatures and against combo. Sounds like you don't play legacy very much or at all
Yes, i never played. I'm casual, i just like to watch. But come on, theres some combo decks like Reanimate or Sneak and Tell that can easily beat infect since it does not run FoW. Death and Taxes can easily lock infect too. I really think that Tom just got luck to get to the finals... Theres another coverage of this deck (in another Gp or with another person) for me to see how it really works?
Watanuki Kimihiro but ummm.... infect does run FoW. and if you check out SCG's youtube channel, you can see Tom Ross playing infect in more tournaments than I care to count. Tom isn't "lucky." He just knows how to play infect better than anyone else on the planet.
Watching this in 2023, we had no idea how good we had it bro's
We were Cruising
This era was peak
I mean the cruise/dig era wasn’t great but I do agree with you overall.
It's a shame SCG can't do all magic's official coverage.
No. No it's not.

Well, the overall experience is less professional imo. Many dead/dull moments. Maybe a bit too much intenral/awkward moments between the commentators.
Rjihn Vasparia I'd much rather have dead, dull moments than hear Rich Hagon talking just to hear himself speak
azir64 please god no more Marijn Lybaert
Why isn't this a thing anymore :(
alien takeover
SCG has the best coverage!
this game was awesome :D Thank you for sharing
the fact that they refer to Brian as BBD is very funny
At 10:13 why did Tom not become immense the 2/3 inkmoth that BBD tried to bolt? 8 points of infect seems better than none?

I just cringed every time Brian resolved a Cruise. That shit was ridiculous!
Whitout TC, Tom should won this GP
The commentary that couldn't pronounce words sounded pretty salty when called out at first
do you mean commentator?
anyone else think it would be cool if phyrexia invaded khans and we got infect prowess creatures
Yes.
No
please no
yea.

Lol well you got your wish in eternal masters. It is going to be awesome.

What Format is this?
Pauper
@@christopherlapp4553 lol thanks 7 years later. Also that's not pauper
BBD is the best
those ancestral recalls are broken
Treasure Cruise seems good in legacy.
Tom's forests look way better than any of the tacky full art ones.
Treasure cruse is such a ridiculous magic card... Anyways that was a great match ! Even in 2024 !
Treasure Cruise underpowered yo
the luck of the people is not normal....!!!!!
At least it wasn't Mathias hunt doin commentary! The way that guy pronounces card names annoys me. Pat and Cedric are great commentators
so unlucky!!!
i find it hilarius that people have to play that ugly 200-300$ lands
I find it hilarious that you can't spell hilarious and clearly don't understand magic.
Man i think this infect deck is so weak. And boring to watch... I'm happy that Brian won.
yeah must be horridly weak coming all the way to the finals...
I dont know, he jusrt keep drawing lands and placing creatures easily removed.

Why does this Tom Ross guy even play magic? He's such a scrub.
what the fuck???? waer/tear against infect??? and this card win the game???? what is that???
Maybe, becouse It kills nexus and some cards of the sideboard??
Damn this is so unwatchable cruise is so boring lol
