Our band director has to pick two songs of a specific list for our next concert and he's super desperate and this is a song that he threw at us and "stuck" but we play it like way under tempo.
I played this for an All-State piece, and our French Horns absolutely rocked the part at 1:32. It was amazing - they were perfectly in tune, and it made me grin every time (I played Euphonium for that)
I played euphonium on this piece last year, couldn't ace the solo once all year, i was so nervous. Still perhaps my favorite piece in my high school career.
Playing this for a festival on monday at the University of Washington! I’m a sophomore in the top band so I’m sadly 3rd trumpet, but it’s still a blast to play those 3 part harmonies!!
Our band is playing Hounds of Spring this year, so I came back to remind myself of what El Camino was like after playing it last year... I'm amazed I was able to play that 1st horn part.
I played this for my youth orchestra finale concert and it is honestly one of the most amazing pieces of band music i have ever played, it's just so much fun, but so challenging and yet so amazing at the same time
I played this on the flute my freshman year of high school, and we played at tempo for the concert, lets just say whenever i listen to this my fingers start to tingle
Loved this song. Played it on flute in Grade 10. Awesome experience. I attempt to play it now and I'm like, "HOW DID I DO THIS???!!" lol. We played it at this speed too!! Can't believe it.
My sister plays bass clarinet and will be playing this at her next concert in June😀 I played flute back in high school; this piece definitely would've been BRUTAL😮 I wish her and her community concert band luck!
the tuba part on this is one of the best in any piece i've played. You've got the fast paced stuff, which really challenges your intonation and timing, and the slow sections, which test your tone and tuning. Overall, this was a great piece to play and one of my favs from school.
This piece is a special memory for me. Aside from the fact that it's a whole heck of a lot of fun to play, it was the last piece I performed in what was supposed to be a very musically busy year before the lockdowns in 2020.
I played the castanets, tambourine, and wood block for this song, and it was amazing. The part might of been a little bit boring but the song itself brings me tears of joy. I really wish I can play this again
This will be one of my first pieces I play as a college freshman (music ed major, performance next year hopefully!). Its been a rough start but I'm looking forward to learning from it and getting better!!!!

Fabulous banding! Compliments! #SEMPERFI #QPO #JMD Have a wonderful day! 💫🥀🌼🍁🍂💜😊 🐛🦋✌🐝🍃🤜🤛 🍊 🧡 🍊 🧡 🍊 🧡 🍊 🧡 🍊 Bravo
The first time I've ever really enjoyed playing Eb clarinet was playing this piece.... also the first time I could play the dynamics written for me and not just get stuck at piano to balance the ensemble
Roger Nixon's "Fiesta del Pacifico" composed almost 20 years before this is such a harmonically and melodically more sophisticated and elegant work for band/wind ensemble based around the same sort of thematic material. It's clear that Reed had heard that Nixon work many times over the intervening 20 year period, and was eventually inspired to write this weaker, less complex, and watered down work...
omg , i don't know wich was the first to come , this opera or castlevania, but it's almost the same song as for dracula's battle . that was my gamer mind . otherwise i really love this one. i love to draw and colour and this give me a lot of inspiration =). i think the night will be long ahah =) it made my day =D
I play third clarinet on this in my band class, he (as in the original composer) did not refrain giving every clarinet part high screech notes. I have a love hate relationship with this song.
Gonna play this next semester... I already lit a candle for the upper woodwinds and sacrificed a lamb for the horns.
I performed this in a concert in 2005... and found out later that Alfred Reed died the night we performed it :(
I guess it was that bad.....
@@somethingabstractiguess 😭😭
I'm a clarinet player and my fingers literally fell off the first time my band director handed this to us.....I'm still sewing them back on...
If you’re still sewing them back on, what did you write this post with?
@@michaelcarlson3837
His nose, obviously.
I also play the clarinet!!! And my thumb felt like it was falling off my hand!
The first clarinet part is really fun on this. Enjoyed every moment of it, haha.
Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra is one of my favorite bands to listen to. I really like the crescendo, dynamics, and the rhythm of this music.
played flute for this...when our band teacher first gave it to us we were like *blink blink* WHAT IS THIS!?!? we died on the first try...
Our band director has to pick two songs of a specific list for our next concert and he's super desperate and this is a song that he threw at us and "stuck" but we play it like way under tempo.
Playing flute for this currently. DO you have any tips?
FRR I WAS LIKE MR. RODEN! WHAT THE HELL IS THIS! WHY IS THERE ONLY 16TH NOTE
@@auroralorraine10 survive im a sophmore and i played this in my FRESHMEN YEAR and made SUPERIOR on it
That's one of the ways you learn. Be grateful for the vote of confidence from your director.
1st trumpet on this piece is amazing.
I shall quote my band director... "Channel your inner Mexican"
I played this for an All-State piece, and our French Horns absolutely rocked the part at 1:32. It was amazing - they were perfectly in tune, and it made me grin every time (I played Euphonium for that)
Played trombone for this. Man that once little glimpse of awesome fast melody was nice. And now ill return to the background lol

Having the solo at 2:54 and praying my reed doesn’t malfunction for some reason
This solo is so Beautiful *.*
I played euphonium on this piece last year, couldn't ace the solo once all year, i was so nervous. Still perhaps my favorite piece in my high school career.

I would die to be able to play this song on horn again tbh
Same! Playing it now, it's really fun, but oh my god.
The tuba piece for this is SO much freaking fun to play…..
this is the song im going to convince my band director to let us play this to end my senior year with
I'm a senior now and this is so far the best piece I've played in my entire music career. I was a first clarinet
Playing this for a festival on monday at the University of Washington! I’m a sophomore in the top band so I’m sadly 3rd trumpet, but it’s still a blast to play those 3 part harmonies!!
This is the audition piece for my district Honors Band this year. I play Alto Sax and I almost died. My lungs can't handle this XD
what district are you?
Edison Cigany OMEA District 5
we were in the same band
i played bass clarinet
Edison Cigany oh that's cool! I was the first chair alto. Which bass clarinet were you?
Our band is playing Hounds of Spring this year, so I came back to remind myself of what El Camino was like after playing it last year... I'm amazed I was able to play that 1st horn part.
marching this for our ballad and closer, is making me die, even though I play bass clarinet, and have it easy most of the time
I had sooo much fun playing this song. Espesially since I play french horn!!
The oboe though....
Played the flute. It was so much fun 😍
Our school made it to state with this piece this year. First time our school has made state in about 20 years. Tuba's FTW!!!
Loved this song. Played it on flute in Grade 10. Awesome experience. I attempt to play it now and I'm like, "HOW DID I DO THIS???!!" lol. We played it at this speed too!! Can't believe it.
I feel the exact same, but on F horn, haha!
I play the first clarinet of this piece and it's very fun!
Lol all my friends think it's hard and I'm just sitting there like ok so I play flute/piccolo and I could play your part
Also play the first clarinet! It's fun but my thumb gets really sore!!!
My sister plays bass clarinet and will be playing this at her next concert in June😀 I played flute back in high school; this piece definitely would've been BRUTAL😮 I wish her and her community concert band luck!
Saudades de tocar essa música.. faz uns 4 anos que nunca mais toquei.... partitura de trompa 1 é espetacular
Got this chart for an honor band once and man😂 its got some spicy parts. Props to the bassoon section because I remeber how hard it was
the tuba part on this is one of the best in any piece i've played. You've got the fast paced stuff, which really challenges your intonation and timing, and the slow sections, which test your tone and tuning. Overall, this was a great piece to play and one of my favs from school.

+rachel ingersoll Timp ftw
+wahhh woop
This song for flutes is like crazy! But sooooo much fun!c:
I know! the best flute part I've played so far though. Clarinets and saxophones have a similar part to.
Which part did you play? First second or third?
Official Cherrytop I Played Second Clarinet
Ironically enough my band director convinced us to play this and this is the end of my senior year!
The beginning of this sounds like something from Super Mario Galaxy. I love it.
I want to be able to play this sometime, maybe in college.
Michael Dixon love the super Mario galaxy mention, also I agree
This piece is a special memory for me. Aside from the fact that it's a whole heck of a lot of fun to play, it was the last piece I performed in what was supposed to be a very musically busy year before the lockdowns in 2020.
We played this for competition, I'm a second chair French horn and MAN was it some fun.
I play cornet on this and it's the most fun song. We all thought we died the first time we got this song but now it's so beautiful and we nail it :)
All of the parts are fun xD. When you put it with a band it becomes something magical.
Thanks your introduction icreasing my taste, enjoyed. I had liked W.A.M listened 400 more.
Total blast to play on the oboe, oh man. Most fun I ever had in band!
Probably the most FUN piece for ANY BAND PLAYER WHATSOEVER!!!! :D
I played the castanets, tambourine, and wood block for this song, and it was amazing. The part might of been a little bit boring but the song itself brings me tears of joy. I really wish I can play this again
I played this at a camp and played 2nd cornet and sat next to the 1st trumpets and felt soo bad for them but still one of my favorite pieces to play

Nadine Morgan im a senior in high school and our band director is giving is this piece to play for state assessment 😬 i play the 1st trumpet part
Was supposed to play this for festival season before quarantine :(
This sounds so good I cant wait to play this!
Still one of the best recording with good intonation and correct tempo across the sections
I have to say playing this sophomore year was scary but nothing our band couldn't handle
I played the oboe solo for this and it was so awesome!
I'm really scared!! 😱😭
I'm really scared!! 😱😭
I didn’t play the oboe solo for this and it was so not awesome😂
Our middle school band is playing this!!!! So exited
that tricky tambourine part around 5:30 still giving me nightmares esp. as my conductor slowed that bar by a lot more than in this recording!
Love of the music🎶🎵❤❤el camino real lovee
My Band has us practicing this as well as Espirit de Corps and Melody Shop...RIP
I love this piece so much!
Our bands show a few years back had this piece in it. just think how hard it would to play this while marching...

Hairdresser Octopus lmao

I loved playing sax part on this song!
Very nice!
This is a masterpiece
The first time I've ever really enjoyed playing Eb clarinet was playing this piece.... also the first time I could play the dynamics written for me and not just get stuck at piano to balance the ensemble
One of my favourites, although the 1st Trombone was a real workout for me :P
Same, man. Same.
second Trombone
Tricky song for clarinets hahaha but I'm loving playing it in band this year ^.^
This song will be broadcast live on my channel at 7 p.m. This song is really good.

I played the mallets for this piece with a friend. Wow that marimba part was fun.

+Lucas Blake 5th :o
Despite being second to last chair clarinet when I played this, the piece was still very challenging
I play third clarinet on this in my band class, he (as in the original composer) did not refrain giving every clarinet part high screech notes. I have a love hate relationship with this song.
Horns ftw :3 sorry clarinets ^^
Why should we be troubled? :D
I am a freshman horn player in our top band (and the only freshman) and this song is absolutely amazing on horn
+Mark Land I'm a 8th grader that's playing this song and I barely can play the first part. I love this song anyway.
Its fantastic once you get it. Its definitely one to practice outside of class. A lot. Khristien Mina
Oh my God the bassoon part is crazy
immaculate.
the tubas in our band alternated measures during the first part, it was pretty funny
I'm a highschool clarinet player and this is my favorite piece but it is a bit difficult
I play french horn, and this is horrible to play haha so fast and high, but it sounds amazing!

the best in the world!
