The alt-mode reminds me of that Fort Max you reviewed a long time ago that transformed into "a brick, of stuff, on tank treads" which was the best description you ever gave to an alt-mode ever! It still makes me laugh.
Not gonna lie, the Threezero Alt Mode comparison does show what is essentially happening to The Wave of Sound himself. Kinda wondering if he does Yoga on the side tho.

I would love a studio series bumblebee soundwave. This has potential, but has a lot has a lot of fairly significant issues, especially at a almost $200 price point.

Well, his robot mode here could be based on people whose body type is short torso with long legs. There are two other body types, the balanced type, and the type that has long torso with short legs. You can see it if you image search it.
Love the character design was looking forward to this but in my opinion mech alliance fell short at the end. So strange he has that big rifle plus it has a blast effect…but can’t hold it? It’s pass for me maybe if it goes on sale I’ll bite.

Cybertronials dont Pain themselves their colors are their skin so for the under metal to show that means persistent wounds, shallow wounds but still persistant
That's the thing, Cybertronians while (mostly) humanoid in appearance don't exactly share a 1:1 copy of the human nervous system... a scratch that would be a paper-cut for us is likely just ignored for them. Which isn't to say Cybertronians don't feel pain (they do), but I think it takes significantly more punishment for it to register; missing limbs, broken joints, anything that's sparking when it shouldn't be, etc. It may not be "paint" in the traditional sense, but their color is mostly cosmetic and just a random part of the Cybertronian birthing process (along with assignment of alt-mode and personality) Not to mention, in the middle of a planet-wide civil war it's understandable that everyone still alive would look disheveled

I like the robot mode. Idk what to say about the alt mode. Never knew about the Cybertronian Brick-On-Threads mode before. At least the articulation is excellent.
Ok so I just got this Soundwave and mine is clean with no weathering on it but it's all plastic. The box says diecast but I don't see any. Is this one diecast?
Non-transforming figures *ALWAYS* look better. Since they just have to engineer joints instead of a whole transformation. Not exactly a fair comparison. That said, not everyone wants the transforming functionality (especially since most of us just leave them in robot mode 90% of the time anyway) so it has a place in the market.
I'm digging the alt-mode, kinda like a mobile sonic assault cannon. His regular weapon could be used for concussive blasts, and his forearms could be considered as sonic cannons for aural attacks to disorient the enemies or even as a vibrational assault to cause earthquakes or collapse structures. :-) I do like how his tank mode makes his robot parts look like it was designed for heavy armored assault rather than mobility or speed.

We kinda did. Matchbox made one for their 3 3/4" figure line but it just went from artillery mode to battroid and back, no hover tank mode.

There is definitely a midsection however they blended it with his hips so it looks a bit off.
