what i've learned from this video:
1- genioplasty procedure can be done as a solo orthognathic surgery or combined as an adjunct to other major orthognathic surgeries like BSSO where mandibular defects are dealt
2- defects could be in all three axes; horizontal, vertical and transverse plane
3- from the horizontal plane, defect could be protruded or retruded. If the defect is protruded then reduction is made. if it's retruded then horizontal osteotomy with advancement is done
4- from the vertical plane, the lower facial height could be increased or decreased, if it's increased, reduction is made, if it's decreased, augmentation is made
5- from the transverse plane, defect could be asymmetry or width abnormality.
the width abnormality could be increased or decreased
6- decreased lower facial height in vertical defect could be corrected by vertical augmentation which is accomplished by interpositional grafting of either alloplastic material or autograft which is positioned interpositionally between osteomised segments
7- complications could be: neurosensory changes, chin ptosis, resorption of bone; avascular necrosis or hemorrhage

-The genioplasty operation can be performed as an alone orthognathic surgery or in conjunction with other significant orthognathic surgeries like BSSO, which treat mandibular abnormalities.
-Defects could be in all three axes; horizontal, vertical and transverse plane , Defect may protrude or retrude from the horizontal plane. Reduction is done if the defect protrudes. A horizontal osteotomy with advancement is performed if it has retruded.
-Chin ptosis, Neurosensory alterations, bone resorption, avascular necrosis, or haemorrhage are possible complications.
