I, too, want my release from MLW...
I put my 2 weeks in when I saw microman on my tv
C'mon, we're outta MLW. Let's walk 🚶🏾♂️
I'm also requesting my release from MLW.
I’m going to NWA. At least my sign on bonus with my minimum wage contract is a bag of cocaine.
You can only do NWA tho
Just a couple years ago MLW was actually a solid show for indie wrestling everyone seemed to know what they were doing but all the good people went to work at AEW and now they aren’t being used right
Tony killing the business in more than one way
Lucha Underground took over and they never been the same since
@@DEADMEMORIES187Yeah, when Salina left and that brought in Lucha Underground in. I stopped watching. Then they broke up the Contra Unit it didn't hit the same for me
Stereotypical street thugs aren’t appealing anymore
At this rate, MLW is going to be the company that sets the court precedent that exclusive contracts are illegal for independent contractors.
As it should be
This situation is stupid but it isn't an issue of independent contract work or exclusivity. If the deal had a good downside guarantee it would be worth. The real problem is people agreeing to bad deals because they aren't willing or able to have someone read over what they're signing.
@@alexs7670 Even if it was read over thoroughly, the signees had no way of predicting how scarcely they’d be used at the time of signing. If you look around the industry, that level of exclusivity for such few dates and without a massive downside seems pretty unconscionable.
@@dngn4774 even then theres no way the contract is enforceable. Everyone who wants to go should either get together and sue or just walk and make bauer come after them. That assumes they didn't sogn some kind of arbitration clause. That's some bulsha.
Would have thought that would have been Lucha Underground.
Tony Khan is Court Bauer with an unlimited budget. Although if Court cut his drug budget he might be able to actually finance a half decent show.
Ouch
Accusations!
@Tittymaster no an accusation would be that Court Bauer, along with MSL and Konnan, were actively helping Chasyn Rance cover for his pedophilia.
Tony, on the other hand, has deep enough pockets that he doesn't necessarily have to cut his.
@@CarlosMedina-wu8ug more ouch.
MLW complains about WWE being a monopoly while holding talent who want to leave hostage. Court is a P.O.S. lol
So he should let everyone just walk to WWE? Bad take.
Instead of holding people down like that they should let people buy out contracts. That way the company gets some return on investments
I don’t know if it’s legal to make someone pay to get out of a contract anymore. The company got their service, that’s what they paid for. To pay for release is akin to indentured servitude. Illegal now, one step away from slavery.
@@randi_godspeed2063It's called a buyout. It's in tons of contracts.
Mate the only problem with creating a transfer market like football/soccer has companys like WWE AEW & TNA would start asking for crazy money to let wrestlers leave like MJF CM Punk Roman Raigns Seth Rollins Mercedes Mone Character Flair Cody Rhoudes etc etc would cost around $130m not counting their contract wrestling will get really crazy & WWE would sign & domnate the market.
So I don’t think it would work plus all wrestlers & wrestling companys worldwide would have to agree to it & there would need a wrestling governing body created to control & manage the transfers & it would need to be made up of all the wrestling company’s worldwide to agree or it won’t work at all.
@@SimonCowie86 WWE aren't nor would they buy absolutely everyone out. They would already be doing so if they wanted.
@@randi_godspeed2063 they buyout contracts in the NBA all the time
Also, MLW recycles talent constantly both to freshen up their product and (admittedly) because of Courts everchanging indecision. This has gone on since the beginning of their reboot. Yet, its a surprise every time.
So this is Lucha Underground all over again.
This screams of a class action Lawsuit waiting to happen.
Problem is what are they going to take? MLW is worth basically nothing in reality. I can almost promise you that company is struggling just to operate day to day, and probably runs at a loss. You can't get the money from a lawsuit if there's no money to take, not to mention lawsuits take years to just get into court let alone win. I doubt MLW will actually be around by then.
@@paulghignon4092 These talents just want out of their conract and perform. It's not about wanting money from MLW. Five years ago there was something comparable, when Lucha Underground ended after 4 seasons, but wanted to keep the talent on their initial 7 year contract.
@staalhard4044 it's very much about wanting to get paid. The example I used is something from WWE and how they and most companies like them handle their contracts.
I have a feeling MLW doesn't handle it that way, and only pays per performance. Also note MLW has a reputation for their checks bouncing and people not being paid. Cornette himself has said he's heard it from plenty of wrestlers, and I've seen former talents say the same stuff on Twitter.
Chances are their contracts wouldn't hold up in court, but given how litigious they are, it would take more than the contract is worth paying a lawyer to get out of it.
@@paulghignon4092bingo on your last sentence.
The scariest thing is TNA might be in a better position than MLW NWA and maybe even AEW. How is it so many ppl don’t know how to build the infrastructure to run a wrestling promotion?
That wasn’t in the games tutorial they played as kids lol
@@rikflare7970 TK didn’t need it too. He had JR ARN REAGAL (both)RHODES JARRETT B.GUNN LYNN & MALENKO to do bookings and setting up house shows and could get advice from R.DOGG CORNETT B.HART & others. He screwed himself on national tv and left everyone dissatisfied including himself.
@@reginaldshort8486 true an none of the young talent listen to the managers he’s paying to teach them lol, ignorance an ego is all I see when I see AEW today.
@@reginaldshort8486it's amazing how these youngsters just disrespect the guys who lived through the highest points of wrestling and didn't destroy their bodies so quickly by doin crazy flips and high spots constantly. These guys could literally tell a compelling story and keeps crowds entertained with just a hand ful of moves. They understood a good promo and good story line would feed fans all the emotions they need and have em goin nuts just because two wrestlers through words had you believe they hated each other and just wanted to rip each other apart. If I was a young wrestler in AEW I would be getting all the advice possible by the older dudes and trying to be like them. There's a reason these guys can still go in their 50s and 60s and these young bucks (no pun intended) will be crippled and out of wrestling by 40.
TNA is truly the cockroach of wtestling promotions, and I say that with utmost respect
It’s sucks seeing MLW go this route. I remember seeing their TH-cam shows a few years ago and thinking “they’re pretty solid looking for small company”. The presentation, matches, and champs all seemed legit. Watching the company backslide like this is kinda sad.
Tony bought all the people that made the show great and just isn't using them AEW could be the best show in the world right now but he doesn't utilize the people he has I mean the guy has Jake Roberts Jim Ross Chris Jericho Paul Wight Mark Henry and Jeff Jarret and can barely break 800k viewers weekly let alone maintain that number the whole show it drops to like 600k until the main event and it only bumps up a little bit it's like TNA after they brought in Hogan
All the talent want to head to the NWA now- the Narcotics Wrestling Alliance.
They just wanna have some lines with the boys
Better call in the Bank-addicted Drug-robber and Grover the outlaw wrestler
Another savage masterpiece by Travis.
I strongly dislike your assertion that the Macho Man is in hell :P
He missed an opportunity to make TK the AEW demon.
“Boston fatu” lol that’s hilarious 😂
Shouldn't they call Stephen P. New?
🎶 Stephen P. New.... Stephen P. New 🎶
@@662chillin 🎶 Callllll Steeeeephen Peeee Neeeeeeew 🎶
LOL at lumping TNA in with this disaster. No one who has worked at Impact these passed few years has a bad thing to say about them but Last seems to hate TNA like TNA screwed his mom or something
Never understood his hate for TNA
@@662chillinmore than likely business related
@Bill22252 Even though we know Jim thinks the overall product of AEW stinks, he still gives them credit when they're good
Brian never gives TNA any type of credit even when they clearly have a better product now than AEW and somehow are still around
@@Bill22252 Or he is a former fan who is still angry with how it all came crashing down after Hogan and Bishoff. He could also just hate Scott DeMoore.
@@MrRjh63 I really dn. His ire about TNA really seems to focus on Jeff Jarrett as well. Like way more than just being a pissed off fan.
As badly run as MLW obviously is, their talent scouting is top notch
Not right now. Now guys like Akira and Jimmy Lloyd are sticking forks in each other.
@@razvangeorgescu1556Akira actually reminds me of Moxley, he can definitely do something.
@@micahjohnsonboxing6409 Not my cup of coffee
The idea of MJF making 30k anywhere, making less money than ME, just makes me sad for everyone there
Only exclusivity deals might really limit them. The company not able to pay more is sad, but they have to be in it to win it. Only dumb if exclusivity drags talent down.
Unless WWE deems Jacob Fatu completely unhireable, the wrong Fatu quit
Does Jacob Fatu have a criminal record of sorts?
@@robertnapier624he does but can't remember what for
@@robertnapier624 Yes, but so do a few other people working for WWE. Both Booker T and MVP did time in prison for robbery, for example.
@@Cruising_On_Lake_Havasoma Yeah there's quite a few of them. You can always find mug shots of quite a few wrestlers who got themselves in trouble.
@@Cruising_On_Lake_Havasoma Jimmy and Jey Uso. Whatever happened to MVP?
As an audience member of mlw i too have requested my release.
Love the artworks that accompany the videos
Lance Anoai and Juicy Finau probably WWE bound
Haven't seen either of them work, do you think they're WWE material?
Lance sure Juicy no
@@lulululululu2939 Juicy is like 500 lbs & isn't a good promo...so no chance of him going to WWE.
@@lulululululu2939Lance had a solid showing in the recent Pro Wrestling NOAH N-1 Victory Tournament, finishing tied for 2nd in the B Block with 8pts.
@@lulululululu2939 look at Solo and look at both Lance and Juicy, they would be fine. Especially if they are being a punching bag for Roman and whoever facing and feuding with Roman for the title
They can be Solo mini team if Roman is gone after losing the title to Cody. By then they would have some training in the PC before their official debut
Anyone with upside and possibilities wants out. MLW had a bit of buzz a bit ago but now they're just there, I honestly forgot they were still around until Hammerstone made news wanting out. if the contracts are as low as led to believe no wonder guys with opportunities want out, even going to AEW and being misused horribly will be an upgrade.
Isn't there some sort of law against hiring someone without a work visa ? Couldn't mlw get in big trouble from that ?
This would be similar to a record company signing an artist and not releasing any music by him, while at the same time refusing to let him out of his contract. 🤔
Which has happened quite a few times
So they release Lance Anoai but they won’t release Jacob Fatu. They know how big Jacob gonna be if they let him go. Dudes a BEAST
Hes out next year anyway so he can wait it out. He signed for 5 years back in 2019
@@SuperAnimeking100 Good. I didn’t know that
Maybe but i heard the WWE doenst like his record and he has issues with getting a passport as a result or so the rumors go.
@@MrRjh63 people have way messier backgrounds than Jacob and still end up there. I don’t think that matters much. He’s turned his life around and is a family man and he was 18 when his situation happened. WWE always gives guys a chance. Just don’t fuck up on their watch. Plus the Usos almost never go overseas and they’re still pushed as top guys. Lord knows their background isn’t clean and they got messy under WWEs eye
There was also recently were he took money said he couldn't show up for reasons and kept the money and other people said the same
Instead of wrestler's coming out to their own individual themes, they should enter the ring to Engelbert Humperdinck's song, "Please release me"...
The Samoan swat team would fit perfectly in the bloodline angle that would be great to see.

Insane that you can legally be held to a contract that doesn't guarantee you any work or salary.
But what tf kinda idiot would sign such a contract in the first place?
Arez is a fantastic luchador who featured highly in Lucha Underground back in the day....sad he got roped into this mess too.
Just got my Jim Cornette face t shirt and i'm loving it great shirt.
Didn’t this same thing happen to Lucha Underground talent a while back?
I love when JC rips off the top of the dome on ads. Should do slam poetry.
This doesn't sound like business is being done in good faith.
Oh they all showed faith...faith uh faith uh faith
So that dude left MLW and automatically inserted himself into the biggest storyline in the biggest wrestling company in the world??? The gall lol
I never subscribed to keeping a talent if they aren’t happy
and the wrestling promotion would rather still pay the wrestler then release them
@@MorganTyler86 Not if they're unhappy, that tends to infect the rest of the locker room.
It feels like pettiness to me when they do.

Used to enjoy MLW during their original 2002-03 run and then again after their return. Was off and on the last two years before getting to a point where I stopped keeping up. Tried watching it again over the last couple weeks and just couldn't get into it. The booking isn't AEW level bad but it's not great either. It was something special at one time and just kinda fell off. I decided to grant my DVR its release from MLW.
Another great commentary from uncle Jimmy!
15:48 Nice quote: who chase the cat and who ate the rat?
Love that Jim mentioned Rush. I hope he's a fan.
Lol Cody's never finishing the story, is he?
Man,I want to train for pro wrestling but what turns me off from pursuing that is all these “big shot” owners and head promoters, stooges and pathetic yes men.. are all people I wouldn’t want to work for or work with. The wrestling world is in the hands of all the wrong ppl…
Problem with the wrestling business today is everyone thinks they are on the level the wwe is including promoters.
They all think that they can compete at the top when in reality they are the drizzling shits
@@emobassistCornette has addressed this before. All the Vince wannabes who don't really know what Vince is really like, only the Mr McMahon character and they have only a tiny fraction of the knowledge and resources he has, so they're just assholes.
One thing to keep in perspective is the business was always a house of wolves. You hear how great it was mostly from people who were moderately to very successful at it. They have a bias and most people tend to remember the good and forget the bad. If you look at the history there were crooked promoters, stooges, and fools like Herb Abrams even in the golden eras of it.
Now as much as I actually like MLW and some of the people on their roster if Court isn't doing anything with most of them then there's no point in holding them hostage and preventing them from wanting to work elsewhere.
"most grammatically incorrect mattress you'll ever have." LOL
Had to Google the fibreglass thing because it sounded ridiculous. I'm safe, over here in the UK.
I'm sure Steven P New could get Alex Hammerstone out of his contract.
He could but i doubt he will do it pro bono.
@@MrRjh63 I would assume he'd charge money
Ya know if multiple people want out of your company ' said company has issues
MLW died when they decided to hire that masked dwarf and made him win matches
FURTHERMORE, WWE deliberately passed on Fatu AND Hammerstone multiple times. Yet everyone forgets these facts.
Was this pre or post acquisition?
@royalty843 How is this a serious question? Obviously PRE acquisition. Christ, Hammerstone was even at one of those NXT workout things at the Performance Center.
WWE passed on a lot of people before. What's your point?
@@coltonwilkie241Justin want to shit on WWE if they signed Jacob Fatu or Alex Hammerstone hence his comment
@marvinleong5902 why would I want to shit on them making more money for themselves and their families? Your brain doesn't work.

Jacob Fatu also
Still waiting for Jacob fatu to show up on wwe tv probley won’t happen but it would be cool if it did
TNA.... the little engine that could...
True, but something is vassal esque to that company too. Like off the books uwf feels.
I hope WWE just signs everyone who escapes MLW. NXT and Smackdown could definitely use some new faces now.
That Spanish guy deserves the NXT run
Wwe already has more than enough talent , they have more than enough
@@Bunbunfunfun Not to mention but despite their talent do they want ot have half the Aoni family on the main roster? After the bloodline it feels like the fans will be pretty burned out on them for awhile.
I wonder if journalists are legally unable to edit transcripts, cause, ya know, yeah man, that must have been painful to read out loud, ya know.
You would think they have some leeway.
MLW peaked in 2019
I requested my release from MLW and they asked if I'd like it done with one hand or two?
If that is Cornette's idea of what Thanksgiving Friday is, then we can get 25% off any of the 365 days of the year
Same issues with lucha underground contracts
Lance and Juicy would add some new life and personality into the bloodline. Juicy is a freakin MONSTER.
Now I really want that mattress!!!! 😂😂😂
I remember a year or whatever ago I found out MLW had a weekly show on TH-cam and was excited. I don't pay for cable, so I figured I'd watch that and get my weekly dose of wrestling. Now having heard how terrible the company is I feel bad for having supported them.

Major League Wrestling out owner Court Bauer may need to merge with Anthem Sports and Entertainment's Impact Wrestling (soon to be renamed TNA Wrestling) as *TNA: Major League Impact Wrestling* and merge the Impact (TNA) World Championship with the MLW World Heavyweight Championship, the Impact (TNA) World Tag Team Championships with the MLW World Tag Team Championships.
It would be a win-win for Court Bauer and Anthem Sports and Entertainment, as well as Billy Corgan possibly partnering with TNA Major League Impact Wrestling.
This MLW owner is gonna be on a hitsquad list!
Apparently it was all an angle
Styx Fatu would be an awesome name!
Court was always cosplaying as vince ..when court worked as a writer for wwe he saw Vince and the power he weilds and court wanted his own box of toys and a ring so he could play booker ..and court thinks the talent should wrestle in bingo halls for their entire career and give up a chance at wwe so he can cosplay as Vince in the 80s
Pharao Court..let my people go...
it puts the lambs blood on the middle cruiser core title or it gets the non compete clause uhgain...
They have an action figure line?!?!?!

@@662chillin I think Jacob Fatu and Hammerstone are two future megastars and will be a huge get for any company ,not wwe. They would get name and gimmick changes and most definitely get buried .
