Hey! Just a tip... To really get the flavor, you should have cooked it. Soy and veggie meats taste and feel very different when they are cooked verses when they are not cooked. I am sure the characteristics of the duck would have come out more had you seasoned it and cooked it like you would normal duck. Also, frying it in a bit of coconut oil would have added to the flavor and given it the fattiness often associated with duck!

I buy these and wash off the liquid, batter them, fry them and make buffalo bites with them with vegan macaroni and cheese. So good that way and quick and easy.

The Thai restaurant where I used to order from used this. They flavoured it somehow (maybe they used soy sauce and spices) and deep fried it and put it in a stirfry. It was AMAZING!

strain and rinse it well, then boil it for 2-3 min rinse and season to taste -----i usually batter it and make fried chicken tenders

A couple of years ago I went into a London Holland & Barrett looking for gluten flour. An assistant came up to me and asked if she could help me. When I told her what I was looking for she seemed visibly shocked - Oh no, most of our products are gluten free - I pointed to a can of mock duck by her knees - Except for that, it's almost 100% gluten - She looked puzzled and horrified, almost backed away. The next time I went into the shop... no mock duck.

What the hell os gluten flour…? Isn’t that just normal wheat flour? The fear of gluten is just crazy, obviously gluten intolerance should be considered but the fear of it like you described is ridiculous

That’s a ton of people to put in one barrel. I for one don’t, but I know for certain some Vegans who do. Wheat gluten was prepared this way throughout what is now Russia, India, Korea, Japan, China, etc long before modern vegetarian/vegan diets. Most of the people throughout history consuming it weren’t Vegans.
