I've seen Walter 5 times, Coco 3 times, but John Myall only once. BUT that time was @ the centeral valley blues festival in Calif. For John's finally he did bring both Walter and Coco out to play w/Buddy Whittington and the Blues Breakers. Heaven came to California that day for me!
Love Coco and John Mayall, they used to play regular at a fun little club called The Zephyr in Salt Lake City Utah back in the 80s/90s. I worked there on and off for about 10 years. It was the best stop for bands on the road to California. It was a great way to spend my twenties! Killer Blues all the time.
That was my favorite moment from all of the festivals I’ve seen. Coco is my dad’s favorite musician and he was so excited! It was wonderful. It’s so great that Bruce brings talent like this to Wheeling
To the beautiful soul who signed up to be an organ donor and subsequently lost their life, you gave the greatest possible gift to a loving family man and his family and now, he continues to share his gift with the world. Your selfless act has brought incalculable joy to so many. Thank you and your generous soul. Very moving to see these two incredible musicians share a stage again. Their embrace at the end brought tears to my eyes. Beautiful!
Crush Everything - People just want to drink, eat, smoke, snort everything and feel good... Most of the times that takes its toll and then they need a new liver or a new heart from people in good shape...
Had tix for a show in Australia that Walter had to cancel due his illness and subsequent treatment. Huge disappointment, but no loss at all really, to have the man still with us and gigging. Live long, Walter. (and if anybody hasn't seen Coco Montoya yet, do yourself a favour..........)
Witnessed these two guitar Greats in the John Mayall band in 85 . They were both Incredible ..it was a Magnificent show!!! Watch Walter and Coco solo ever since What a Blues pairing!!!
I have a live John Mayall CD from the Blues Collection series with these two guitar virtuoso's in his then band ,they are certainly a true musical force ,brilliant.
Quite right my friend. Quite right. I saw these guys play one sunny day in Memphis at the Memphis in May festival. John mayall. A lot of the young ones there were so twisted that they didn't know what they were hearing.
I don't mean any disrespect but Walter Trout reminds of the guys I went to college with. They all claimed to love the blues, but they always dialed in a hard rock tone and every time they took a solo they just shredded the whole time and never really came up for air. Just sayin', blues is about dynamics, space, feel and a lot of the time what you don't play. Imho...
@toddhooper,you need to get survivers blues,Walter made special picks to honor blues guys that didn't get their due. The song red sun by 2 brothers who I can't remember their names,1 is a 100 years old and Walter called them up a.d told them they were going to be getting some publishing money coming in and the younger brother said he was going to use his first check to buy a new guitar and start playing again.Walter knows the fucking blues...
ya know what I love about walter and his band.sammy, micheal, stuck With him,his bass player booked.this new bass player is Awesome, the old Bass player wouldn't make A wart on this new ones Ass,thats my opinion,poppa............
Chemistry that comes with love.

That's why we call it bluesrock... Walter is GENIUS player!
I heard lots of space between the notes. And yes, it is called Bluesrock. There is "space" for it in the blues...
