I’m so thrilled to have come across this video. I am a native of Savannah and an alumnus of Benadictine Military School and Armstrong State College. By the time I attended the college, it had built the new campus on the southside. I have always loved this building and I am grateful that it is being authentically and lovingly restored.

Thank you for posting this. I am in awe at the beauty of yesteryear. Men were gentleman and women were ladies. Sweet Savannah has so much class!!

I just love seeing the restoration of some of the beautiful old homes and buildings of my hometown, Savannah. My dad dated Ruth McGuire, who was a noted interior designer in Savannah, following his and my mom's divorce in the early 1970's. Her house backed up to the Armstrong mansion on the north side and used to be the old Savannah Art Association building. Needless to say, yes, her house was haunted.

I love that this mansion will once again be a private residence. 😀

I love this house. So glad it's being preserved. When I saw it, it was a law firm and I wanted to go in but I knew better. Just love it!!

I had the opportunity in 2000 to visit Savanah with my family and see the parks and homes around those parks. Such a beautiful city. Stopped by a fire station and a fireman was washing a fire truck and let my daughters sit in it for pictures

Very well done video. It popped on my main TH-cam page and I recognized it as I saw it on a tour. It was gorgeous in person, gleaming pristine white. From this video, the detail inside is amazing. I should be so lucky to see inside one day. I love Savannah.

Very nice video and very nicely done. I have only one little quibble and that's the background music. The reason it's called "background music" is because it should be in the background. In many parts of the video it overpowers the narrative which then becomes difficult to understand. This seems to be a major problem on many informational videos on TH-cam.

I take responsibility for the subpar mix. In the years since producing this video I have become more aware of this tendency of mine, and have tried to adjust. Because TH-cam videos can't be replaced we're stuck with this mix, but in the near future there may be a full-length version of the Armstrong documentary, covering Part 1, Part 2, and the final product. Hopefully I'll do a better job with the mix on that one. Thank you for your constructive comment.
In case you're interested, here is Part 2: th-cam.com/video/RCJf5oxF7ao/w-d-xo.html

@@kineticarrangements Thank you for your response, Mr. Smith. It's greatly appreciated. I've already seen Part 2 and was envious of the people who were invited to see the results of the restoration. I will be eagerly awaiting a full-length version that will hopefully include a walk-through type tour of the home.
I'm thankful every day for people like Mr. Kessler who not only have the desire but also the wherewithall to save and restore historic homes and buildings. It is unfortunate in America that our tendency is to demolish older buildings and build something modern in its place.

One reason Savanna is so nice is it was not buried under Intestate highways as were most American cities.

There is nothing more appealing than the beautiful voice of a Southern gentleman or lady. Something so rarely heard in today’s South. No long drawl, no hesitation in speaking and no fluttering fan nor eyelashes. Just molasses soft speech pattern that leaves no doubt about what is meant!

Shocked that they didn't claim he was a slave owner, tear the house down, and demand reparations.

No need to put it down just because you can't afford it.
