Good morning Yvonne, thank you so much 😁! I am glad you enjoyed the video😀👍, for me its a real pleasure to be able to share what I have seen with you all, and the hour I spent filming caught some lovely planes! Hope to see you later on the NCL stream if you are free. Take care Mark
Thanks Rab - it was a bit of a hot streak that I enjoyed down at Myrtle Ave for the hour that I filmed there! Glad you enjoyed it😀👍. Hope to catch you later. Possibility of a dry stream today🤣. Cheers Mark
Hi Laila, hope you are keeping well. I am delighted you enjoyed it😀👍 - the plane I enjoyed seeing the most I think from my Sunday afternoon stint down at Myrtle Avenue. Look forward to entertaining you next time out, which looks to be Sunday from EDI. Naturally I'll firm things up in the next Community Post in regard of the prospects of doing anything on Friday. Take care Mark
Great shot mark. I wonder if anyone has actually interviewed the residents of Myrtle Avenue and asked them their thoughts on living under the flightpath of Heathrow.
Good morning Cabbotaxi, I don't know, but guess the must have been some media exploration of the issue. My grandparents used to live around the corner also on the 27L flight path. Even back in the 70's the British Airports Authority put secondary double glazing in to try and mitigate the noise. I do recollect some media coverage of nearby roofs losing tiles, linked I recollect to the noise and air movements off the incoming planes. Staying there back in the 70's I remember the TV signal used to get wobbled from time to time and phone calls used to be tricky during the point a plane went over. Flip of the coin as a small child laying in bed - there was nothing quite like the reassuring drone of a BEA Viscount coming in low late in the evening. My grandparents used to grumble about the noise in an everyday way but were always positive about the airport - Grandad used to work there and they lived in a BAA house. A great question from you that took me right off down memory lane🤣. Cheers for watching and taking the time to post. Mark
