I don't understand why anyone would give a thumbs down. You produce excellent videos. Fix it or not = Great value. Thanks for your contributions.
How many people are disliking these videos lol, all the videos you put out there are really good/useful. I would say you and sorin are the best out there, this is the first place I come to keep up with all the cool stuff you are posting. I also am working through older videos since I am relatively new here.
Actually i just checked - I have average 98.7% likes over the last ten videos. Funnily enough this video has 100% at the moment and I expected the reverse to happen LOL. Really I was being tongue in cheek. I have no issue with anyone disliking a video but I think it should be compulsory (or at the very least polite) to leave a reason if you click dislike. How can you expect anyone to improve if you don't explain what you think is wrong? It's pointless yeah? Sorin's Electronics Repair School is the reason I started this channel actually, I based it on what Sorin is doing because I'm impressed by it. He certainly taught me more than a few things. It makes my day now to be compared with Sorin in a positive way. I never spoke with the guy but if I'm ever in his area I will pop in and say Hi.
Cheers! There aren't many electronics people on TH-cam that can explain things as well as you. Some people can't help but be that way. Don't worry about it. It's their problem.
Enjoy your video content thanks for sharing your wisdom and the people disliked your videos I wouldn't pay no mind to them they're lucky you're not charging you're giving free info I remember years ago when pay TV first came out we used to use three King coils and three variable resistors pepiometers and put the composite sync singles back it was easy to decipher back then...

Engagement is good; (even the dislikes) but I definitely gave this a like along with all the other videos of yours I have watched. You are very good at what you do and you teach it beautifully. I think some people just have to downvote/dislike a quota of content daily or they don't feel good. It's kind of like the people who can NEVER give five stars for anything. If that's the only pin on the chip that is shorted to ground, wouldn't it be better to first try finding another pin with the clock signal on it and connecting it to that resistor before replacing the whole chip?
The laptop last time now this receiver, have you consider that the problem may be at the TV?
yes mate - the laptop was tested on two TVs and two monitors with at least four cables (some on site and some at the workshop). This receiver was tested at the bar it came from and I found the same fault at my workshop 😉 But it's a good question - never assume your test equipment is *not* causing the problem!
Next time remove the chip to prove the short is gone. Nice video learn from it.

hes gonna get a letter at his door saying the bbc are coming for him, lets hope he doesnt get caught watching a live bbc program or there will be trouble.
@@Ghost572 Aha - now you would be correct if you can get a BBC TV license here, I already emailed them with my address and asked to buy one as I was watching their broadcasts and they refused to sell it to me so I have documented proof of their culpability in the case of any legal action 😄
I have provided the detector van with Richard's address, ho, ho. I wonder how many viewers will comment on what is wrong with this falsity.
it's funny the letters they used to send through the post every week with a big red box saying they are coming for us and we must pay out licence fee or a BBC agent will come and get us.
I used to have to peak out of my curtians to see if any of there agents around before leaving my house, pure fear tactics.
@@ralphj4012 If I see any BBC detector vans in the Canary Islands I'll let you know. Now here is something of an oddity - on the Astra 2 satellite at 28E we have sky and UK free view. A lot of bars have Sky boxes to show Sky Sports even though officially you can't buy them here... and interestingly enough the signal on the Sky Sports transponder is very deliberately extended to cover the Canary Islands so you can receive it on a 80cm dish here if you bring a box from the UK

But ITV etc (who are advertising based so surely they want you watching it) needs a 3.2M offset dish or a 4.3m prime focus but you can still watch it if you have the space. This is why so many people use 27.5W on a 1.35m dish.
There *is* no legal requirement for a TV l license in Spain - you can google that. But go on, if I need a TV license to watch BBC I'm all ears on how to get one.
You showed up in my youtube, probably because I do watch a LOT of repair videos. I am not going to click on dislike, but I will say the following. The amount of time you have the probe on something proving there is a short is stupidly long. You position the fluke very close to the speaker so it is loud as hell, far louder than your voice. On your video, I lowered my volume to 20%, maybe that is the reason people dislike? I am here to hear you, not the long beeps that are louder than you.
Constructive criticism I like. Funnily enough I increased the volume on my recent videos as some people said they were too quiet/muffled. I normally use the Kaiweets meter on videos as it has a much larger display (and a quieter beep actually) I just need some batteries for it and didn't get chance to grab some. Hopefully that will sovle this problem - let me know when I switch back to using it 😉

I have a hearing problem so dont hear the high frequency sound of the meter , just thank the stars you have good hearing and stop complaining how well you can hear.

M3821 seems to be a SoC for DVB-T2 and not for satellite receivers. Strange or wrong part number?
