Thanks for this Jill, my Grandmother was Crudenbay born an bred and all my summer holidays in the 60's to 70's we spent there, fond memories of "The Port" as my mother would call it. My Grandmother Margaret Duguid became a successful Fish Merchant in Aberdeen. Looking forward getting over that lovely long beach this summer with my Grandkids. Thanks again.

A fascinating, obviously intimately accurate account of a history I was only partly aware of.

one other big history you may not have known about the Cruden bay, is that Bram Stoker got his inspiration for Dracula's castle from Slains castle on the out skirts of cruden bay and that he wrote most of the book in the Kilmarnock arms hotel and was a guest there as early as 1893.

Thanks for your comments Paul. If you look back in my you tube channel you will see 3 pieces of work, in which I used my imagination to formulate my thoughts on how Bram Stoker may have found his spiritual home here and the inspiration from our coastline gave him the solitude to write his books. The intention of my work then was to help save the plight of Slains Castle. In my opinion It’s one of the quiet, unspoilt places left in Aberdeenshire.
