I ran across the new band to start listening to. They are an Italian power metal band or maybe I should say melodic metal... they have some interesting attributes and usually more uplifting styled songs... and they have this adorable little young lead guitarist who really knows how to shred.... and yes the female vocalist is a fan of and influenced by Sharon, I finally found out. I think the new lineup in the band started in the summer of 2021, and the have a new album coming out in mid-march or was it mid-February Maybe
This song was mostly written by Diana Leah they lead singer... the way the song rolls and some places I can't help thinking of Journey like from the early 80s with the Escape album
Delain kept the name but replaced all but bandmembers. charlotte wessels has a solo album out nice but not rock. I think tge should have new name. This isnt Delain. I dont know what earthquake happened, but if music style and most members are all different then why use the old name?. It isnt fair to the new players. A new namewould give everyone a fresh start without beeing compaired.
Actually that doesn't make no sense in this case. The original drummer returned, the original guitar player (April Rain era) returned, the original bass player, Rob van der Loo (April Rain era) plays this album. Marko Hietala is on the album, the main songwriters of Delain (the founder and writing partner) are still active as always. They also used the same production team (mixing engineer, arranger etc). In short, there is so much Delain DNA present, that it completely justifies they kept the name. The only new members are the singer and bass player. You can also clearly hear it in the sound of the new songs. It is so recognisable as Delain. So normally I would agree with you, but in this case I think it's very logical, and a lot of fans are really happy Delain is still alive and kicking.
@@martijnjanssen4419 Agreed!! Also keeping the name and identity of Delain allows them to retain the rights to play it on stage with new member(s) but older songs. Which I am happy about. They audition well and thoroughly to find a suitable replacement which I think Dianne is. But I do get the sentiment in what addhoc is saying. When I first found Delain I was bummed I wouldn't be able to ever see Charlotte in concert with them. I found them too late 😞
@@scoobyrick513rd I am sorry to hear you found them too late 😞.Actually if Im correct (I am no lawyer though) everyone can play anything they want live. (That's why there are a lot of wedding bands that play everything from Queen to Abba etc ;-). Some big metal bands play covers too of others too. However if you would record it and put it on a sound carrier (like a vinyl or cd) then you do have a problem. You need permission for that if Im correct.

And you may be right (also not a lawyer 🙂) nonetheless helpful if they do decide to release albums with live recording, they've done a few like that before. Either way, can't wait to see what they do moving forward.
By far the weakest of the three releases from their upcoming album (way to poppy)- here's hoping that the rest of the new tracks kick a little more ass.

You are correct when it comes to the lyrics. Those were indeed written by Diana. The music is written by Guus and Martijn.

I hear there's a mini rock opera on there with Marko Hietala. Very curious to hear that one.
