Mad World is a Korean 2.5D browser MMORPG developed by Jandisoft that is releasing its open beta that's available to everyone on PC this month. This comes after years of development and several delays but it's finally here. I know many of you may be disappointed to know that it's not going to be available on mobile immediately but rest assured this is a priority for Jandisoft and I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a mobile release this year. Keep in mind some of this information is subject to change because this is an open beta so just be aware of that.

You sure about what you say in your vid? Movementspeed potions alone are powerfull, heradstart will lead to the good old beginner zone camping we had in several playtests, then there are proression helpers in form of boosts aka people 20 levels higher then you bash your face in. That's the information I have and it screams P2W! So there are only forced PK servers then (not even bothering calling what happened in the tests pvp att all it's jsut a gankfest)? Well sad let#s see how many months the game will last.

@@RickySalsa_ Well there is xp gain food in the packs you can buy No Idea how much you get or for how long but it already is the first XP boost for money and I don't think we talk about 0.5% ^^. So it's P2W from the getgo if you are not a brainwashed naive that thinks because some publishers called their P2W games P4P and whatnot that there is no P2W when there is.
@@Notfallhamster Taking another look it does seem like you are correct, the food in the founders packs do increase xp. However, there is a cooking skill in game, and I'd imagine that those food would be available to craft using in game systems. We will have to wait and see. Just on my end, I don't nessicarilly view experience modifiers as p2w, more pay for convenience. Fairly common now days. Lost Ark, WoW, and BDO have some form of xp increase or just flat out character boosts.
@@RickySalsa_ In a game that caters to the PK market where griefing is normal gameplay beeing ahead of the curve when it coems to levels is the most most potent thing you can sell. Beein higher level translates in better gear, better upgrades and more stats overall. If this isn't P2W in a PvP and PK focused game I don't know what is. If you can play MW in good old carebear mode and you never need to participate in PvP or you never get PKd everything will be fine. If it is unavoidable like in the playtests aka pop out of the tutorial, spawn, move 5 steps and die, then things are different. I like the general game and the art and playstyle a lot but so far the system in place right now makesm e belive that it's P2W and will die in months.
As someone who is looking forward to Mad World but doesn't know a whole lot about it, let me thank you for this video! It helped me understand the information out right now as someone who will be experiencing their first MMORPG

I have a question, when they says that "they can't buy attack power or defense power"
in discord a lot of people talk about a few gears that can be bought with gems
Also, they are still going to put the purchase of 1 weekly inventory space (they will take it from you if you do not pay it again the other week) it seems that they do have p2w practices on a medium scale
I define my version of pay to win as you can't buy offensive or defensive stats in the cash shop. What I think your referring to is the black market and the use of crystals to buy gear there, think more of player trading auction house. So while what I said is true, I can totally see that point. Unfortunately, we can't really see the impact of the black market and the use of crystals to buy gear until we get into game and the economy is somewhat established. This release is still an open beta so while there may be contentious features off the bat Jandisoft has seemed fairly open to changing things. Good point though and I think maybe a video covering some of the more popular topics, things regularly discussed in the discord, could shed some light on these issues.
To your point about the inventory space, yes the weekly inventory space could be argued to be advantageous to those who opt to purchase it, at least to me though, it is a smaller issue in the grand scheme of p2w features. Inventory expansion in my mind is more quality of life than p2w in my view.
well, the black market is a huge problem if we speak about p2w, seems like there is not a gold option and only crystals, so is even worse, any player can buy crystals with money, and use those crystals to buy good gear, is very p2w. It's like they say "we are not going to sell gear, but we are going to sell crystals that are used to buy gear"
@@sabrinatorres5912 Part of the equation when evaluating if Mad World is p2w lies in a few factors. The first being the time it takes to gather materials and the second being the success rate of upgrades. Both we do not have concrete information on at the time. If a 100% f2p player is able to create items that are equal in power to the ones sold on the black market in a reasonable amount of time is the game truly p2w? I would argue that if this is the case then the black market would be more of a pay for convenience feature , time saved in exchange for money (crystals).
Additionally, the black market is not a one way transaction where the crystal spent just disappear, the crystals that are spent on gear go into the economy, this stimulates more trade, and if all goes well a thriving market will emerge. Again, I think it's a valid point and something to be cognizant of as we get into game.
@@RickySalsa_ It is difficult to gauge this until the game releases and people talk about what the practices are and the reality of it in game. It may look different on paper but quite damaging in reality. I will take the wait and see approach for now.
@@RickySalsa_ There is no "yours" of "my" version of pay to win in existance. What you have is called delusion, because if you can buy items = power with cash shop currency no matter if its black market or game shop its pay to win.

ACTIVE: Jax enters Evasion, a defensive stance, for 2 seconds, causing all non-turret basic attacks against him to be dodged. Jax also takes 25% reduced damage from all champion area of effect abilities. Counter Strike can be recast after 1 second.
At the end of the duration, Jax stuns all nearby enemies for 1 second and deals physical damage to them, increased by 20% for each attack dodged, up to a 100% increase.
"Cannot buy experience, attack power or defence power in the cash shop"
When they are that SPECIFIC you know shit is rotten, like you won't be able to buy attack power, sure, but you ll be able to buy some sort of gems or stones that you infuse your weapon with that raise your power level or something like that. Yeah, you can't buy it DIRECTLY, like there's no button that says "Press and receive +100 Attack Power - cost 5$" but come on man ... these are some scummy moves
Are there servers for people who want no PvP at all? Any idea how much of the game will have no option PvP?
Currently, there isn't much information available about pvp in Mad World. I would expect there are other safeguards available to players not looking to fight, however, they are unknown at this time. There is something called a Madness Meter (might be the wrong name) that build up if a player attacks another player, the debuffs associated with a build up of this meter is currently unknown as well but I would expect some pretty harsh penalties so it acts as a bit of a barrier and protects players.
@@RickySalsa_ I think that their safeguards will fail like it has in most of these games. I hope to be proven wrong.

What server would you recommend for an oceanic player (new Zealand)?
Currently, there are three servers available, North America, Europe, and Korea. In terms of ping I think Korea might be the best but if you don't speak Korean it might be hard to find a tribe (guild). I think if I were in your position I would go with North America. But, I'd say try each server and see what your ping is.
