Wow, Ksenia! So aggressive and such beautiful and clean bar work. I'm always a sucker for a great Deltchev. I hope she gets back to this level after that tough growth spurt...saw a good bit of improvement at the 2010 Worlds podium training over the previous year.
Semenova and Nastia look a lot alike to me. It's cool how you can see the similarities between Nastia's technique and the Russian team's technique :) love the cloud of dust during Chellsie's first release move! Great dismount.
oh i know that warm up they do it in the film 'Stick It' it is amazing how they do it. I was just wandering as i have never seen anyone else do it except her! Thanks for replying
JUST I WANT TO SAY, CONGRATULATIONS TO BRAZIL´S TEAM, BECAUSE THIS IS THE ONLY COUNTRY in America Latina that bacame at final team with all greats countrys that are pontencially on gymnastic. -sorry, my english is not good enough-
actually when we do a move like that we put our arms slightly wider than our shoulders so that we can just roll our shoulders around without dislocating it. But it does take alot of shoulder flexibility!
@jackmini What I noticed with France, that the commentator's really didn't comment on was their missed connection bonuses. The aerial walkover into the back-handsprings weren't connected on either of the girls and that's just one spot. Connections and little balance checks were probably the difference.
The difference is the duration of the twist. Technically, the Gienger and Deltchev are almost exactly the same thing, with one tiny difference. In the Deltchev, you do the half twist immediately, then go into a front salto to recatch the bar. In the Gienger, you do a back salto with a half turn spread evenly throughout the salto to end up facing the bar to recatch it.
ok, as far as the full spin... i agree- if you can't do it, don't do it... but i have a hard time believing someone can do a standing full, but cannot master this dance element..
From around 7:48- 8:16 why do you they keep the camera focused on the empty beam section? There's a routine going on on the floor, but instead the cameras are filming the empty beam section.
about the full spin on beam with leg at horizontal- a full spin with leg at horizontal is 0.3 a full spin is 0.1 now most gymnasts get a 0.1 of a deduction on their leg at horizontal spin but if you just do full spin there should be no balance checks so instead of taking the deduction gymnasts should connect the full spin with leg down to another skill and get connection bonus ehh ehh what do you think froyos?
I can't wait to see the competition between Russia and the USA!!! I think Russia is going to win, but 've been watching podium trainning for the at&t cup and the USA is definetely going to put a good fight (I know USA beat Russia at worlds, but Mustafina wasn't on the team and both Nabieva and Komova were injured)
Susan Di Laudo Aw, don't feel bad for confusing Tkatchevs with reverse hechts, as they are one in the same! :) A Gienger is a giant -> back flip -> half twist (see Nastia Liukin @ th-cam.com/video/8_VymzUh4GA/w-d-xo.html), whereas a Deltchev is a giant -> half twist -> front flip (see Ksenia Semenova @ 1:45). This is my understanding, as a non-gymnast, anyway!
Dear USA and China lovers, Romania won two times in a row and has been on the podium for the last 10 Olympics on the women team finale. Can your teams do that?:)
Um did Romania even medal in 2016 ?,:), ummmm I don't think so ,and technically , the U.S has also medalled 7x's in team , since China was disqualified in 2000
+Don't even. medal? Romania didn't qualify a team. first time in the history of the sport. I felt awful, but I'm glad the days of the Romanian and Russians dominating have leveled of to an even playing field!!! USA has been doing its job
You know the move the american did at 6.56 does she have to like dislocate her shoulders cause its a very odd move. I know this must sound really stupid lol
don't know why steliana nistor can get a high 16.150 here but with a low score of 15. sth. .... but the quality of both routines are quite similar and i don't think they really worth a 16... but i still quite like her as mike or..?? who i don't know say she goes like a rocket.. hahahaha
Chellsie Memmel is lovely to watch doing the UB (Uneven Bars). Plus she great on it. I like it and then hugs her team mates.
I love when it's USA vs China it just gets so competetive and intense to watch. I love it. .
"Yuko Shintick" lol. BBC is the best. Especially Christine Steel and Mitch.
"Looking down at a wide angle shot of the beam" XD

Great bars routines from Chellsie Memmel and Ksenia Semenova!

Thanks , I lovee Nistor she is soo strong gymnast

Semenova's dismount was stunning

its called an eagle grip and yea its pretty cool her jam to a handstand and all
brilliant team especially usa china love dem der gr8:)
But this year will be USA vs China vs Romania :) This year our team is amazing :x Can't wait for the Olympics ... few days left :D
Best wishes to Brazil in the future!
@smartcowgirl didn't think of that, thanks :)
every time he said stoop-in i thougth he said stupid
@Sephoraholic07 ya but chellsie has to take it from a hindorff which is a lot harder than just swinging into it like nastia does
I want to see Danny Tanner do gymnastics.
Full house fans
Lol
No problem :)
I really hope Malaysia can become of those team in 2012
@Jocelyn9918 they will be back soon ;) can't wait for this year's worlds, was a bit disappointed with their performance last year.
ok, as far as the full spin... i agree- if you can't do it, don't do it... but i have a hard time believing someone can do a standing full, but cannot master this dance element..
No Alicia Vault?
@Jocelyn9918 when are they? wonder if bbc will cover them
way to go Chells on UB routine after falling in Qual. Stuck dismount!!
From around 7:48- 8:16 why do you they keep the camera focused on the empty beam section? There's a routine going on on the floor, but instead the cameras are filming the empty beam section.
France seems to be doing good on the beam too.
@Jocelyn9918 what happened to the chinese team? who won? please tell me
Is there a time limit on bars like there is on beam and floor?
about the full spin on beam with leg at horizontal-
a full spin with leg at horizontal is 0.3 a full spin is 0.1
now most gymnasts get a 0.1 of a deduction on their leg at horizontal spin but if you just do full spin there should be no balance checks
so instead of taking the deduction gymnasts should connect the full spin with leg down to another skill and get connection bonus
ehh ehh what do you think froyos?
yes.
Chelsie Memmel-the original flying squirrel
but she's beautiful to watch.
Not true. They both have a half turn, the gienger is done piked or stretched while the deltchev (not sure how to spell it) is done straddled.
What do they mean when they say the katchev (sp?) was flat?
what as Nistor's bar routine out of??
@Jocelyn9918 she competed at the nationals but I think she needs more time competing
It was weird how they filmed the vacant beam for 30 seconds instead of the gymnast on floor.
at 3:10 why is valeri liukin setting up for shawn's bars?
only one Coach allowed on the floor
I'm sure scoring isn't as high now...
They say "Nistor the highest score we've seen so far..." They show Semenova and she scores 3 tenths higher.
I can't wait to see the competition between Russia and the USA!!! I think Russia is going to win, but 've been watching podium trainning for the at&t cup and the USA is definetely going to put a good fight (I know USA beat Russia at worlds, but Mustafina wasn't on the team and both Nabieva and Komova were injured)
i cant figure out what the difference between a few of the bar elements. delchev vs gingher and tkatchev vs reverse hecht.
Star Tetrahedron Yeah, I did say that, but I should have said that a Tkatchev is a reverse Hecht with a giant before it :)
Go team USA, Best!
her tkatchev was high, but I think he means she was close to the bar orso?
he also pronounced the japanese gymnast's name wrong around 7:18...
russia's leos are awesome
Exactly! A deltchev is to an arabian what a gienger is to a back-half.
Dear USA and China lovers, Romania won two times in a row and has been on the podium for the last 10 Olympics on the women team finale. Can your teams do that?:)
Um did Romania even medal in 2016 ?,:), ummmm I don't think so ,and technically , the U.S has also medalled 7x's in team , since China was disqualified in 2000
and also U.S.A has won twice in a row, 2012-2016. And will do it also in 2020
I doubt you want that answered now several years later
+Don't even. medal? Romania didn't qualify a team. first time in the history of the sport. I felt awful, but I'm glad the days of the Romanian and Russians dominating have leveled of to an even playing field!!! USA has been doing its job
@MeHuman20 ummm.. good for them, but why does it matter? Im not impressed :/
I think it wasn't that high. her d score was about 6.5-6.6 or so
just wondered (:
@starrgirl991 definately the most talented Russian there.
@TheAkriese a frekin men
@000500006 Agree I can't wait for this year when it's Russia vs the USA
You know the move the american did at 6.56 does she have to like dislocate her shoulders cause its a very odd move. I know this must sound really stupid lol

@StFrancoisofthelord Thats what I was just thinking! Nistor seems to ALWAYS get over scored and she is so obviously sloppy!
or shawn on bars :/
lol same xD
Memmel was amazing. :)
i don't think so hunny, it's hard to stay on the uneven bars for a long time, your whole body is burning towards the end
i didn't see sacramone's vault??
@emmartherandomer who cares
