Pt. Mukulji is eccentric alright, but very honestly, after having listened to his performances 5 times in Pune, of which one was not that good, but other 4 were exceptional. If he is in the mood, he is way above any of the best singers today. I remember the performance after he came back from rehabilitation, he sang Raga Bihag in Yashwantrao, which was housefull and he did Aalapi for around 30 min. I have never ever heard that level of aalap. Simply brilliant.. For people like him, they live in their own world..
I feel this is a pointless video.... just words and words going nowhere... more about himself.... on and on... i dont sense that he knows much about the music... came across this and decided to give it a chance... but waste of my time since it was just one random man rambling about mainly about himself....
What is the point in making such a video which is full of negative facts everybody knows? Whatever he was destined to contribute towards hindustani classical music is beyond comparison. His voice touches the soul directly which is beyond the capacity of any well trained and well behaved musician. Only because of his name your video is being watched by his fans
The content is much more than only negative facts . I have deep respect for him and love for him. I feel sad when someone I love so much is so vulnerable. It is an honest video . I have talked about 56 musicians whom I met, i love and respect them as much as I love music . I appreciate your time

I once heard him live. Incidentally he sang Yaman but I think by that time he was not in proper frame of mind and that yaman simply did not take off. But whatever singing of his is available on you tube and a few cassettes is of very high class. It is a great loss for Indian classical music that he never did justice to his potential.

मी पंडित मुकुलजींच्या गाण्याचा चाहता आहे. कलाकारांच्या वैयक्तिक आयुष्यावर असे भाष्य करणे अप्रतूत वाटले. कलाकारांच्या जीवनात चांगले काही असेल तर सांगावे , दुर्दैवी काही असेल तर सांगू नये असे वाटते आणि म्हणून सुचवले.
Public shaming of an artiste intentionally or unintentionally whose private life is discussed so publicly is unnecessary. The sadness lies in that you are making money out of it on you tube. If you were so concerned for his well-being , perhaps you could have helped him privately. That would have been more dignified.
