I have stayed twice a year for the last 10 years in that hotel in April and November and usually the night breeze makes it fine for sleeping with no air con, and apart from the quad bikes going up the hill in the middle of the night it's been fine for me. It does seem very hot this year, you said 31 in a video about 7-10 days ago! At least you are not on the other side of the hotel where trucks come in all through the night to the laundry because they wash for a bunch of hotels in the chain. One year in September, my wife and I stayed in playa del las Americas (at the Sol) and the hotel air con was broken so we had to have the patio doors open, but the noise from the bars was so loud we couldn't sleep. So with the air con broken and the noise, it was a 2 week nightmare. Enjoy the weather, it's freezing back over here 🥶

AI was decent enough, I'll eat most things personally but they struggled with a lack of staff and we regularly had to clear away tables ourselves just to get sitting. We stayed on the 12th floor facing on the other side from the pool which I thought had better views of the port and sea. The pool view rooms got hot due to getting the sun all day. Also cockroaches were everywhere in the evening. They were in the joints of the buildings exterior stone cladding and would regularly drop onto your balcony from above. Great location though.
So, now you are back where you belong, treat yourself to a trip inside Bar El Infierno. It is a bit dark inside, and scary! A must though for something a little different than the normal bars. Really good cocktails too.

Have been to look at it several times since as its changed hands several times ....and yes its "" rough "" Interesting point though is the manager is still the original...wonder what he thinks about it !!!
You should put their name in the title Kev. The rooms are like a jail. The pool area is disgusting. You need to invest in a mini fan it fits in your rucksack I take mine in every holiday
So wee Kevin I might have missed it but how did you get to Tenerife from Morocco. Did you have to return to Scotland then to Tenerife or was there a direct flight from Morocco to Tenerife? Cheers DougT
Hey Kev...really concerned now as we have been to this hotel 5 times before and always value and food choice really varied and I am fusy but alwayys get fully fed....the hotel has no real soul but the terrace and pool are good for sun cover although the pool is freezing...most are though in low star hotels with no heating.....hey ho...we will be there on Friday so it willl be what it will be but my Melia card will have me straight to management of not up to scratch...keep safe
Gran Canaria all the way for me Puerto Rico/Mogan blows Tenerife out of the water and the weather is far better more sunnier and less cloudy than Tenerife 😎
@@ScotsmaninTenerife you didn't get to Puerto Mogan lol 😂 having been to Tenerife about 40 times and Gran Canaria about 30 times, there is no comparison GC is more diverse with better sunnier weather, Tenerife attracts the British chavs and has seen better days, most accommodation is now outdated in need of refurbishment and is ridiculously overpriced, the weather is also hit and miss, Tenerife gets far to cloudy
@bigchod-pv7eb done lots of videos in mogan check them out , weather is almost identical most of time I think. I will be in Gran canaria soon the only nice bit is Melonares and Las Palmas in some areas along with Mogan. Puerto rico has the best bars.

I usually like your reviews Kevin, but to slate this place because of the heat is ridiculous. Surely your knowledge of Tenerife should have stopped you paying for a place without AC, if you’re so sensitive in this respect.
Cockroaches nay a problem up cardiac hill accommodations, its the altitude sickness that sees them off 🤣🤣😎(only kidding-honest) BTW someone wrote days ago that the Castle Harbour complex had gone into administration, i think your uncles and family like to stay there, any news on how its affecting bookings? Room over priced food not great I could probably accept but no way would I book anywhere without air con 100% a no no made that mistake years ago never again for me air con is my first priority when booking a holiday
Staying here at present last night tonight home tomorrow staying up in the higher rooms also with no air conditioning but cool enough with balcony door open creating a nice breeze also not been stuck for something to eat yet,i feel you are using the worst of the trip advisor reviews alongside your bad mood for your crap review because you paid the going rate for one night only
Just being honest I wasn't angry the standard rooms are shocking with the heat and in my opinion food is poor . Everyone has their own views I am happy you like it but nothing will convince me its worth 117 per night.
