But these and other unusual tips can protect your house - or at least let you know it was visited while you were away!
And remember that most break-ins occur in the afternoon when people are at work or school. Burglars feel safe because their chances of getting caught or identified are low. Still, before getting inside, they watch houses for some time to figure out if they're empty. By the way, one of the things they pay attention to is cars parked in driveways. So if you have an old vehicle you haven't gotten rid of yet, make it useful!

- Consider putting large, reflective numbers on your house and mailbox. It can help the police locate your place as fast as possible if your neighbors call them to report some disturbance in the area.
- Windows are some of the most common ways burglars get inside a house. Rid them of this opportunity: plant thorny bushes right under the outside panes.

Thorny cactus plants on indoor window ledges are also useful deterrents. Also use the 'Security cameras in use' sign which is mandatory in some lands if you are using cameras, but put them there even if you have no working cameras. You can also purchase PIR operated barking dog devices, which trigger random barking sounds every time someone enters your property.
A neighbour once used a 'Beware of the snake.' sign. A burglar ignored it, and encountered his pet boa constrictor. He was seen running away, with some small items, and was caught a few days later because he told the wrong people about the snake. He still had some of the stolen items in his possession when questioned and arrested.
Life would be so much easier and stress free if we didn't have to worry about all of this....

Some people have a wall of cement at the back of their house because where I live we use front yards more often than backyards
You might be thinking “a wall of cement? They can just climb over it”. The wall is topped with glass shards so if you try to reach the top you will be greeted with a pointy welcome. These shards are randomly shaped and placed
The front yard usually has a fence and the top fence is always pointy as well but it looks like decorations which is very good if you don’t like glass shards

How can you put the glass when your outside?
My mom used to set traps with pennies. Growing up if I was in trouble there was a setting on the TV that wouldn't allow me to watch without a code. The TV in their bedroom however didn't have that option so to keep me from going in there she would hide pennies in the door frame in a certain pattern so if I open their bedroom door there would be no way for me to know what pattern she had them in as they all fell to the floor lol
