The idea that Paul is in some way splitting the Shema and that “nobody makes a fuss it’s just what you do” that’s so far fetched
The more logical thing is that he’s not doing that, and that’s why there’s no controversy
In a sense you can have YHVH texts applied to Jesus in a similar agency type way like
God led the people out of Egypt
Moses led the people out of Egypt
You don’t then claim oh look Moses is God
The academic idea that Paul is doing something SOO drastic like changing the Shema or claiming two people within in the Shema and that nobody is batting an eye because “they already knew”
    Such a stretch
The more logical idea is that nobody bats an eye because that’s not what he’s doing
    Paul repeatedly says
There’s one God the Father period
The more logical idea is that he’s doing a 1 Timothy 2:5 thing
There’s one God and one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus
    One God, the Father
    One mediator, the Lord Jesus
After all, it’s one Lord through (mediator) whom…
    One God
    One Lord
No need to split the Shema
Let alone claim Paul splits the Shema and nobody seems to care
    That’s not really plausible
I really enjoy listening to NT Wright on so much and own several books of his
But this idea always bugs me
    Thanks!

Why is the host scribbling circles on the Bible with no respect?
