- (2023) Hamilton Mall is a struggling mall a short ways away from Atlantic City. Once a strong performing mall, foot traffic has declined, and the current owners are not very promising.

Thank you for covering this, Doomie. I used to visit this mall a lot when I was in high school and college and it was packed every Saturday Night. It started changing around 2017/2018 when teens began causing trouble and the township police had to start patrolling the mall. Also, Namdar taking ownership in 2019 made things even worse. I became friends with an owner of one of the food court spots and he said Namdar was raising rents and cutting corners. Everyone had to chip in if they wanted the janitorial staff to clean. I remember it got so bad that there was literally trash and pieces of food smeared on the floor throughout the mall. Namdar is a disgrace.
I was just there in July. I am originally from the area and grew up going here and to The Ocean County Mall. My husband and I were flabbergasted at how poorly this mall was doing. While we were there Rainbow was packing up their store. My daughter bought jewelry from Claires and my son looked at the record store. Thank you for covering this mall. This one hits different since it used to be one of my malls. Namdar is doing a phenomenal job as usual 🙄😑. Before July last time I was there was 2007-2008 right before I moved away and it was packed.
Namdar. Ugh. I’m sorry. I live in MA but I vacationed in Atlantic City for many years. Once in awhile we would drive out to Hamilton Mall. I loved the Macys there. They sold higher end stuff compared to what we had at home. I haven’t been to that mall now in at least 15 years? Really sad to see it struggling this way. It was always busy when I went there and it was a nice place to visit.
Nice of you to feature this mall. Unfortunately it’s very empty and not busy. Definitely has changed over the years. I live near here. I feel bad for the many businesses that got affected

If you ever go back to New Jersey you should go to the Echelon Mall, now known as the Vorhees Town Center in Vorhees, NJ. Its a mall built on a former airplane air strip and its dying. I used to go there a ton in the 90s and early 2000s until I moved away in 06. It was a great mall at the time, especially the 90s. Had a small amusement park even. The food court was good and the Camden County library across the parking lot was a fav haunt. I remember when the mall was essentially cut in half and Sears closed too. It slowly emptied tenants and now I think the only anchor is Boscovs a very 80s esqe chain that has great options for Christmas gifts. Another NJ mall I would tell you to check out is the best one of South Jersey at Cherry Hill. Its the nicest and best of the shopping malls. Have many great memories of that mall and its food court, KB Toys and EB Games. Was a fantastic place to eat and hang out with friends as a kid and teen.
I can tell that this was filmed some months ago. This mall is even worse now, >70% of the stores are closed.
Every mall that use to have a Sears is ironically struggling
It happens that some of the malls in the greater NJ-PA-DE area that never had a Sears are doing very well. Cherry HIll and Christiana Malls are thriving with near full occupancy. The only mall in the area that is an exception of this pattern is the Deptford Mall which is fourty minutes to the west.
I remember this mall when it was hopping. Same with our local mall, The Cumberland Mall. I have a video of my own on the dying Echelon Mall here in TH-cam. Shame as malls were not only about shopping. It was fellowship. Also, another relic sits behind this mall, the Atlantic City Race Track.
I knew I wasn't wrong. I checked to make sure here on TH-cam. So there are two Hamilton malls. This one and Hamilton Place mall in Chattanooga, TN.

I have a short on my channel of those buckets with water pouring in them. There's a rumor that the mall is closing in February.
Worked there when I was in college late 90's. Had a great gyro place ...so strange to see them empty but again I never go so...I'm the problem.

I live literally two minutes from this mall. It is really sad what it has become. I still try to visit it from time to time. I worked there from November 2020-May 2021 as a temp in the business office and you're right, Namdar is an awful company who doesn't care about investing any money into their properties. Unfortunately, since you shot this footage in 2023, many more stores in this mall have shut down since then.
I miss home .i cant wait to move back. Hamilton mall thats where i met the mother of my kids. 07 was the best years in my life till i moved to Florida 2016. Ive been in hell since. Moving back real soon. Yeah 2007 it was packed so many people
I was just there in August and the Level Up game and comic store was cool. Also they have a very neat retro arcade that you can play by the hour.

For this video, I consumed some Hi- Chew sour watermelon flavoured chews and some grape flavoured chews. They are so delicious. I highly recommend anyone to give them a try at least once.😊🍇🍇🍉🍉

This Mall was a great Mall when it opened and for years after. My wife and I and kids used to frequent there often. I was there last year returning something to American Eagle (now no longer there) for my wife and I walked the Mall and there were around 35-40 empty store fronts at that time. This is basically the shape of most Malls around the country. Without the big branded stores as anchors these Malls can't sustain themselves. With Internet shopping and then COVID the demise of the Mall is ever closer. To be honest, this Mall since I live close by really has no draw for me to go anymore. It is a shame but most people aren't shopping at Malls anymore and it's clearly evident as more Malls get shut down. Who's to blame? We probably all are but this is the state of our society today. It's safer to shop online and the choices you have are way more than going to the Mall. So, has the Internet destroyed the Mall and Brick and Mortar Stores as well???
On a Side Note - You didn't walk the Food Court or what little there is left of it. Still a part of the Mall I believe when you walk any Mall with one.
I remember when going here was going "to a real mall." Sad to see its current state. Does anyone but employees go there?

Any chance you could cover Auburn Mall in Auburn, MA? It's the only surviving mall of 3 malls in the area, but "surviving" is being generous.

it really does look like a nice mall but when you walk in & the first thing you see are yellow signs & blue buckets used to catch water then things do look bleak. i have never been to atlantic city but i have heard the area is not what it was 30 to 35 years ago
