Korone definitely understands most of what she's saying. And then there's Miko and her Elite English, which is too Elite for even Kiara to understand.
@@kalidesu I would guess that that's normal among foreign speakers. They tend to concentrate on enunciation and grammar while native speakers tend to be more idiosyncratic. That's how you can tell that Kiara is truly fluent in English compared to Korone who is merely good.

YUP! I am a native German speaking person and learned English at a young age. I'm dual lingo, but try as I might, my brain just won't permanently learn Japanese words. I retain stuff for maybe a week then I lose it as I move to the next batch of words etc.

im not a native english speaker, and i didn't learned it at school, i just started with the very basic and instead of watching shows and movies in my language i swapped everything to english with subtitle, play games in english, favorizing english songs etc, in like 4 to 5 month i was fluent, even though my accent is thicc af cause i don't have many opportunity to speak english
i think unless you are in a situation in your day to day life where you interact with native speakers of the language you want to learn you have to simulate that environment

I mean Ame is the only one who is known to not be super good with at least pronouncing Japanese words. Gura has been shitposting for years with Japanese language stuff before hololive so it’s expected she can pronounce Japanese.
I guess it just shows how speaking japanese is easier than speaking english, cause every word has definitive syllables and each syllable is a single sound, while english has weird combinations, that make different sounds depending on the word

Sure you will still be understood (in most scenarios) but it will just sound really weird for someone that is native/really fluent. Plus they can use the context to figure out what you said

Miko probably hasn't put as much effort in learning English which is fine as she lives in Japan and streams to a largely Japanese audience
When the hot chocolate one hit Miko, I thought, "oh no..." Miko's repeat of that sentence was surprisingly good for how her diction can be, though, and Gura pulled a Choco deciphering it. The sentence got through Korone only missing a "the." That was an impressive round.
