😂 thanks for the shout out! I have to admit that I haven’t heard the O. album yet. My comment was based on that time when I saw them live - just drums and saxophone, I liked it. And yes, I do know Kid606 and ATR - a band which coincidentally I also saw live once (loudest 😖 show ever I think). Have a nice day!

Team America is a brilliant work of art that's better 20 years later. I really want a sequel called "the rise of the film actors guild."

I have never seen the case of the bloody iris but the poster reminds me of a newer film called the love witch which i really like so will be seeing that one.

It's better, not funny but Die Hard, Live Free Or Die Hard is my July 4 watch. Thanks for sticking up for Prince. Lyrics were real life

Agree with pretty much everything you laid out here. Atari Teenage Riot had its place, but I was never a huge fan. Purple Rain is a classic, but definitely has some cheeseball parts. I last watched it about four months ago, and its nice to see Prince in his Prime. Team America is solid gold. I recently came across something that had shades of Team America, but was a lot less coherent. It's an Australian television show from a little over 10 years ago called 'Danger 5'. It's on TH-cam here for free if you do a search. Both seasons are very different. At times its genius, at times just blatantly stupid, but it did make me laugh at some of the absurdity. Check it out if you haven't seen it. I feel its a love it or hate it production.

'I dont want this to turn into a Pitchfork slam.....but generally they have know clue'. Thank god this didnt turn into a Pitchfork slam l😅 I like the Quietus..but I think you already read that.

They really don't. Pitchfork has always been pretty clueless, but now they're adhering to the woke agenda and trying to edit and reimagine history by claiming things are facts when they aren't. The only requirement to be a writer there seems to be whether or not you're under 25 and how politically correct you are. Scary times for art here in the US.

    Hey man,
I've heard you say before that you don't like the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre and T2. I'm not upset by this, lol but would love to hear why you aren't a fan of these movies. Your rants are epic.
Didn't know where else to leave this comment, but decided to do it here because you are talking about film. Big fan of your channel and keep up the good work.

Hello, Mr. Taint! Haha, love that name. With the Chainsaw movies, I'm just not moved by them. It's hard to explain, but I'm not scared at all by it, and maybe it's the production values, possibly the acting, and in my opinion, certainly the directing. I think they're more comedies than anything, but unintentionally so. I understand why they're legendary and I totally respect that, but slasher/gore movies have never moved me too much. They can be entertaining and fun for sure, but they've always left me feeling a little flat and bored. I think a good comparison to Texas Chainsaw would be "Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer". Both movies are loosely based on real killers, but to me, Chainsaw is a comic book version of it, where Henry is a close look at the psychology of it. I'm much more freaked out by the realism of Henry than I am the schlocky and over the top nature of Chainsaw. Hope that makes sense!

I have to laugh when the video pauses for an ad and it’s Joe Biden. where’s Heat Dome? 😂

    1. Good Grief - I just listened to O. and it is terrible. I get the ATR reference, but to me it sounds exactly like mid period Hella records. Pitchfork is an ego trip and is kinda over, I think - they don’t really seem to have much impact other than breaking news on musicians who passed away or have beefs. At first when I saw the title of this video I thought you got a 4K of “the Story of O” - ha!
    2. Giallo - I have no idea where to start, beyond Argento. Thoughts on you doing a video on the genre?
    3. Purple Rain (film) - I can’t say I liked the movie (love the music!), but it was better than Under the Cherry Moon. Yikes. He did have a great visual ascetic, but he never translated to film. Jumping in the lake though!
    4. Ashamed to say that I have never seen Team America - except for the vomit nozzle scene that is constantly sent to me. Are you a Kids in the Hall fan? I always thought of them as my Monty Python for me 🤔.
I remembered my family renting a VCR and watching Top Gun back when it came out on VHS in the 80s - it was like Black Magic at the time ✨
    Hope you’re doing well!
