This ones really cool. Not only because of the beautiful vintage craftsmanship but that it doesnt need batteries either. Its very rare that you see toys that use the clock work method nowadays. Great video too btw.

I can only imagine just how many kids got that toy set as a Christmas present back in 1968!!!!

This reminds me of my toy from early 2000s. It has an battery powered engine car with gears, which used to automatically change it's body, so it can be dump truck or bulldozer, or an elevator's engine. The point of it also was to cycle delievering dozen of black balls. I loved it so much, and the idea of using only one mobile engine to power different mechanisms only when they need to be powered excites me until nowadays. It were made in France, but maybe i'm wrong.
Edit: it was TOMY big big loader.

It was the TOMY big loader, they did Thomas versions which I've got - definitely cool toys (although this one is a lot more interactive)

The main body appears to be produced using a technique called 'Vacuum Forming'. A thin plastic sheet is heated with a roll over radient heater to soften it then the form is lifted up into the sheet and a vacuum applied to suck it down onto the form. Sometimes an upper plug is used to assist difficult to draw areas. The sheet can have a pattern printed on it before forming to produce a finished looking part that may also need some cutting. This looks to have been done like that. It is a technique still in use as forms are normally first made in wood then casting resin used to produce production forms and aluminium ones used for even higher production. Injection moulding is totally different and uses much more expensive alloy or more usually steel mould tools and needs a high pressure injection press to squirt in the molton plastic.

The landscape is really nice. There is a turntable in the valley with different doors, i suppose into a mine.

This toy seems dangerous to children. Some children may take out and then swallow the little stones / marbles during playing this toy.

It's clearly a toy intended for children well above 3 years of age. Also the current regulation allows any kind of little pieces for toys intended for children above 3 years
