That awesome trombone player is my Granddaughter! Thanks for sharing this video, Tim.....and thanks to the band for giving her this chance of a life time!
This (unexpectedly!) brought tears to my eyes. 1971 - my absolute favorite song! My first Love Jim and i danced to this song at every coffeehouse. We' d hear the horns and we'd be on the dancefloor! You still sound AMAZING and i still LOVE this song! Thank you for a lifetime of memories ❤❤❤ It's 2024 and im 66 now and I'm still feeling the earth move when i hear VEHICLE! ❤
THIS YOUNG LADY PERFORMED WITH IDES OF MARCH WAS OUTSTANDING AND I ENJOYED SEEING HER PLAYING WITH THE GROUP!!! THESE MUSIC LESSONS PAYED OFF THAT DAY! I ALWAYS ENJOYED THIS SONG!!!!
This video just made my heart feel so good for that young girl.that smile on her face.and Pete and vehicle to let her play she is so honored. A once in a life time memory for her.thanks so much for this video.thanks TH-cam.
wow I remember back in the 70's I had the chance of just saying hello as I was leaving a show, he actually talked to me like he knew me. What a class act then and now
15 year old Madison Kidd was pretty hip swinging and jamming on stage with those kats on the horns next to her. She fit right in!! I was playing sax in a rock n roll band at 17 (still in high school) in 1970 and we were playing this song at high school dances, proms, and even weddings (no DJ's back then) What a blast it was...!!!
AWESOME!!! Madison you knocked it out of the ballpark. This song was and still is one of my favorites from that era. In fact, I call that era in music my favorite era. With music groups like Blood, Sweat & Tears, Chicago and The Ides of March, it was a great era for music.
She's the best young trombonist I've seen in a long time. Jim, thanks for giving her the chance to perform in this venue. She's so good that she should join the brass section of a soul band. Anyone up to hear her play in "Earth, Wind and White Girl"?
From another really old band geek that played trumpet and flugabone, she lived the dream. In my young days, I dreamed about playing with Chicago or Ides of March. We played Vehicle as well as several Chicago tunes. I hope she stays with it. Sounds like she's got a great future.
Loved this tune since it came out in 1970, glad to see Jim Peterik and the Band still performing it. What an opportunity for Madison Kidd - Yes, she sure did nail it !!!! W O W !!!!
I love it when entertainers get the audience involved... especially youngsters! One moment such as that can be a Springboard and inspection for achieving things in life they never thought possible.
Great job guys Jim I'm from the Chicago area originally and I was little when this came out . I live near Phoenix now and to see a young girl play with you guys on this 45 years later was great as you definitely rock Jim
As a former high school trombonist and college orchestra soloist, I saw some of the world thanks to my talent. Point is, she was deadly spot on. And had some real groove for a young lady. Petrik was a great guy. I ended up in radio for 45 years. Such as it is....so nows shes 21-ish? Would be cool to see where her ability took her.
What a great deal. This always makes me feel good. This is a night this young woman will be telling her kids about. I don't know much about Jim Peterik but he seems like a happy and nice guy.
What a great song and Madison was exemplary. My 16 year old son’s high school a jazz ensemble played “Vehicle” at a concert they played in April. He plays saxophone and the 30 piece jazz band had the whole theater rocking and the audience had their jaws dropped by the power of that song. Beautiful job Jim, the Ides of March and Maddie♥
Wow …damn… holy crap …you’re about to see a whole bunch of new comments here …I got here from the first episode of the last season of Ozark …just love watching young people tear it up …rock ‘n’ roll
Don't ever count our young folks out. Our young son had "It" what ever that is and now a professional touring rock drummer. Tonight he is across the country playing in Hollywood at the Whiskey and then a festival with some of the biggest rock groups.
Aw c'mon. This girl just happens to have her trombone with her- and she knows every measure of the arrangement?!? She was just toooo good . And really put on a show! If this is for real, she has got to follow up with more performances.
I would hazard to guess that her high school band learned this for field show judging by her movements on stage. What an opportunity for her and the memory of a lifetime!
Shannon--in 1991, my oldest son played 3rd trombone in the Jones County Jr. College Maroon Typhoon Marching Band in Mississippi. "Vehicle" and "I Can See For Miles" were the finale numbers of their show. It never failed to bring the house down. It was worthy of any DCI show I have ever seen.
It's amazing how this song became a staple of marching bands. I started high school in 1970; this song became our band's go-to song. A few years ago, I went to the local high school's football game, just expecting to watch the locals play. Into the bleachers comes the band. Halftime, they line up out on the field, and what do I hear? VEHICLE! 45 years later, seems it's still popular. Amazing.
@@d.e.b.b5788 My son that played in that judo band has been searching for videos of that show they did. He's found a couple of clips, but not the entire show. Back then nearly every high school and judo band played certain songs on the field. "The Horse" and "25 or 6 to 4" we're very much used.
i love it , asombrosa el alma de esta chica , se nota que disfruta hacer musica y que mejor que con este clasico , todas las buenas vibras para ella '' felicidades ''.
That awesome trombone player is my Granddaughter! Thanks for sharing this video, Tim.....and thanks to the band for giving her this chance of a life time!
Thomas Killala Is this a current video, is she still 15? I would love to hear more of her work.
Thomas Killala Awesome! Must've been a dream come true for her.
" Does anybody in the audience play trombone?" Great set up. I know she'll be telling her g-kids about this night. Looks like she had a blast.
Awesome!
4 years later and still impressing.. very nice. sounds like she raised a good grandfather... god bless both and family.
That's what I love to see.....giving a young musician the opportunity to shine!
This girl warms my heart to the future of musicians. She rocked it. Best part was, you can tell by watching her that she loves it.
An incredible good and catchy Song. The brass sound is so incredibly powerful!!!
That was teary eyed goodness What a great job young lady She needs to be in a popular rock or jazz band
That young lady will never never never never ever ever ever forget that night
That kid played that trombone like nobody's business

Madison looked like she had the time of her young life!!! WTG, Kidd!
I've watched this a bunch of times and it never fails to make me smile. Awesome performance!

Such a lucky young girl to play with a legend! She's great, too! This 46 year old is jealous haha. 😉 What an awesome song. ❤️
She gave a lesson to the tired old musicians on how to play with enthusiasm and showmanship.
Her moves mark her as a member of HS band. You rock!
A moment you're never going to forget

Look up the band “light house” and a song called “ one fine morning”
Getting to play with such a tight horn section at that young age must have been an amazing experience. Something to remember with pride always

Unreal. This is just amazing
This young trombonist is fantastic! I plated trombone for 20 years and this girl just blew me away! Awesone performance!
Loved this tune since it came out in 1970, glad to see Jim Peterik and the Band still performing it. What an opportunity for Madison Kidd - Yes, she sure did nail it !!!! W O W !!!!
Not only nail it, but looking like she had a blast doin' it.
Kid kills it in an Earth Wind and Fire way!!! kid is flyin!! great to see that, all to rare in that demographic!
One of my favorite tunes of all time. I was 11 when it came out. Still play it all the time
Jim is an unsung hero of music and supporter of kids. Just research his background if your peaked.
GO, MADISON! GO! (One of the greatest songs ever written!)
15 YEARS AND 100 % FELLING
Ok that was way cool made me tear up cool.
She rocked it out
....NICE
That was pretty dope.
I love it when entertainers get the audience involved... especially youngsters!
One moment such as that can be a Springboard and inspection for achieving things in life they never thought possible.
No hesitations, no boundaries, only pure skills...🙌🙌🙌
This was a SUPER GREAT one hit wonder. Love the hell out of this song!
Jim also wrote and sang Eye of the tiger, by survivor
He's actually written many songs for other bands. Dude's very talented!
Awesome blast from the past
Flipping great job young lady !!!!!! Those boys had nothing on you !!!!
Great job guys Jim I'm from the Chicago area originally and I was little when this came out . I live near Phoenix now and to see a young girl play with you guys on this 45 years later was great as you definitely rock Jim

Great musicianship from a 15 year old. Jim still rocks with the best....
Awesome! I love watching ordinary people do extraordinary things.
...which makes them extraordinary by default...
Most definitely on a Chicago Area Classic !!!!
Dang! If somebody had given me a crack at this kind of thing at 15, I'd still be playing Old Brassy.
Soulful to the core. Love this song, it is timeless.
Don't ever count our young folks out. Our young son had "It" what ever that is and now a professional touring rock drummer. Tonight he is across the country playing in Hollywood at the Whiskey and then a festival with some of the biggest rock groups.

One of my favorite songs, and this is an unmatchable story. I hope this girl has heard some of our classic rock favorites since then.

Ms. Kidd NAILED it. Brava!
Aw c'mon. This girl just happens to have her trombone with her- and she knows every measure of the arrangement?!? She was just toooo good . And really put on a show! If this is for real, she has got to follow up with more performances.
She probably brought it to have it signed. Guy from the band Chicago signed her case.
She killed it. How cool.

That was awesome!

Chutzpah, I come everyday for a smile 😃
Absolutely outstanding!
You rock girl!!
I would hazard to guess that her high school band learned this for field show judging by her movements on stage. What an opportunity for her and the memory of a lifetime!
Delton Killen ...no, but she was in marching band and pep band
