I took the slx class back in 2006 even though I have always had small traditional locs. I have always had issue with some of the Slx teachings. I am also a loctition and I gotta say I love your approach!! It is much needed in the loc community.

Thank you for commenting but I don't anything about six teachings. My purpose is to encourage better relationships between our hands & our hair in the purest form while leaving spare for nature to nourish our scalp.

I just found your new channel.. It's so good to see you on TH-cam again......
Thank You - I learned a lot about caring for my locks from you on your old channel - Especially the importance of misting it with water - That was a game changer.
I personally had to stop following the sisterlocks grid - It made my locks scalpie and I started having hair loss in my hair parts.
My locks look and are alot healthier since I stopped following the grid, not using the tool and stopped retightening it on schedule - That combination was to traumatic for my fine textured hair.
So glad to find you again.....Looking forward to following your hair care videos again.

Oh I am so pleased to read your growth! Being aware of what enables your hair to thrive is a MUST!
Your words are so appreciated and mean a lot to me. I am here. Ready to share my expertise & findings.
Carry on watering your hair it's the primary hair care treatment for our Locs & BRAVO for removing the grid. It is the leading cause of hair loss amongst Sisterlocks Clients who I work with.
      Lovely connecting!

I am grateful to you for everything you share 💝 My hair is doing so much better since I have been listening to you 👏🏾😀 I have more confidence in myself doing the healthiest thing for My hair and my scalp is transforming to a calmer cleaner and no stress area for my hair follicles I'm more moisturized than ever before and I am getting compliments which is something I only got when I had a fresh retwist. My new growth is 4 months old and I am getting compliments. I moisturize and lightly oil everyday with a spray bottle ‼️ You are amazing and I appreciate you 🙌🏾😍 Thank You 💝

Im so relieved to have discovered you Melissa. I am already 4 years into Sista locs with regrets. I neglected to research beforehand locticians and thought the first one that showed up in my Google search in Baton Rouge was my lucky one. However, im here now and i love the loc styles and knotted locs are the answer to the problem i am having with my locs thinning because of retightening every 6 weeks for 4 yesrs! I have one concern, more breakage. Will knotted locs add more weight to the Sista locs?

Thank you. I can say mine feel more healthier and I think it's the maximum hydration that gives mine more of a weight. Most clients tell me there Knotted Locs feels light and dense for the type of strands they have.

How would you compare the average retie time with the time for SL (not the time btwn reties)? I'm aware of the variations due to loc #, skill, etc., but I'm just trying to get a general comparison. Also, does your process require a tool?

    • @MelissaBlakeKnottedLocs
      @MelissaBlakeKnottedLocs  ปีที่แล้ว +5

You can't they are two completely different types of locking processes. #iTeach Knotted Locs without a tool. You simply need little bit of oil on water and your hands. My work exists to free up your time whilst showcasing your locs texture. #iKnotLocks

Is the knotted loc technique only for microlocs? In other words what's the largest loc size compatable with KL?
I had SL many years ago. I'm ready for locs again, and I plan to begin with braidlocs. I plan on my braids to be smaller than "traditional" locs, but not micro-sized. Thanks in advance 🙂

Hi! Do you have to begin your lock journey with knotted locks or can you transition from retwisting at any stage in your journey? I started two strand twist then started interlocking at 6 months in, the interlocking was always tight afterwards so I have been retwisting for the past 2 months. I am 2 year’s locked this month.

I’m not sure if torn was the right word, but I want to do my hair, but I enjoy someone else doing it. However I’ve come to realize that the person doing my hair, feel doesn’t care like i do. I’m on the road and getting into a position that I can’t get it done like I want and I feel like I may be thinning so I want to take over my hair care, but don’t know how I’m gonna take care of it on the road. Any advise?
