Solid yung explanation. The kind of prof that I'm looking for in college. Imagine if ganito kalinaw yung boses at kaorganized yung bawat topic eh di sana sulit yung tuition.
#nationalism
How I wish you were my professor in that course. I was one of many na tingin sa history ay boring. Sa tingin ko, it is because we were force to memorize all of this details without proper narratives to connect all of those information. And nagbibigay din ng justification kung paano ito nagiging relevant sa panahon ngayon which is a motivation for me at least to know more.
I guess my only personal nitpick (which isn't too much of a big deal) on this one is sana na-include din yung nagaganap na Hispanization movement na nabanggit dun sa libro ni Nick Joaquin na "A Question of Heroes" (which is a GREAT read, btw). It says something about racial assimilation in which sa sobrang impluwensya ng mga Kastilla sa atin, parang gusto na rin nating maging Kastilla. But seriously, I wish we had more video essays that are of much higher caliber of nuance such as this one.
this is VERY helpful. sana po makumpleto niyo yung lahat ng chapters comprising the life and works of rizal course. will share this to my friends 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Grabi this is really helpful for those sa mga estudyanti hindi masyado maka intindi sa discussion. This really better, please do more videos every history ❤️🤙🏻
They took our rights sa sarili nating bansa. Minaliit nila tayo sa sarili nating bayan. Imagine? We are Filipinos and Philippines is our home pero nandidiri sila sa atin?? kahit na sila yong nakikisiksik at nagnanakaw sa bansa natin. The audacity of those friars and spanish ppl.
Sad but true. But hindi na ngayon let's change it.
Eyy, maraming salamat! For your question, I'm pretty sure sex segregation was just the norm during the 19th century.
Hey there! Sorry for getting back to you late, I've been swamped with midterms. For your question, I used a bunch of references for the video that I just added to the description. But to cover most of the content, the main ones I used are Imelda C. Nery's "Life and Works of Rizal," Schumacher's "Making of a Nation," Zaide's Rizal biography, and the podcast "Rizal on Air." Hope that helps you out!
@@overtheacademicwall Hello sir, I just want to say thank you for sharing your references. I have been searching reliable information, and glad I read this reply of yours to someone. Thank you!

Hi. Hindi na available yung mismong PPT niya, I've deleted it a long time ago to save space haha. Ito yung link: www.slideshare.net/HumiDump/02-19th-century-philippines-as-rizals-context-life-and-works-of-rizalpdf I don't really suggest to use this slide since super haba niya (almost 200 slides, baka hingalin ka kapag ginamit mo) but you're free to modify it naman.
