The problem with every other coin that is not Bitcoin is that they are NOT STOCKS. At best they are like trading cards. If they become popular and get hyped up then some people will retire from them. MOST will not. The difference, I think, is between investing in the only finite digital asset in human history vs. gambling on the hype of the market and whether you can get in at the right time and get out at the right time without going broke.

@@adrianc1264that’s crazy to still be hearing this, concerning the now-infamous Blackrock report that an optimal allocation to BTC is 84% or something like that. But I get it, the super rich have no incentive to buy any (much less learn about it) since the fiat system has served them well and they don’t think there’s anything better out there. But they’ll all learn sooner or later, even if it’s based on hype. BTC is pretty much a Veblen good so, paradoxically, the more expensive it gets, the more interest/demand it gets. If there are still so many rich people not on board, then we are most certainly still early.
My strategy, as someone one who doesn't have thousands to spend on BTC, is use the altcoins to grow a few hundred into a few thousand, put half of that into BTC after the bull market finishes, the remainder into the same altcoins to increase my position for next time. Then keep adding to the altcoin positions during the bear market. In theory, my profits from the altcoins should get bigger each cycle, and each cycle, I should (hopefully) be able to buy more BTC than if I hadn't invested in the altcoins. BTC is like my retirement fund. At some point, I would hope to have enough that I can transfer it to the stock market in a diverse portfolio of dividend stocks that pays enough each month to live off.

If bitcoin goes to say 10 million per coin and let's say that happens in 10 years and that 10 million dollars is what it would cost you in fiat dollars and fiat is slowly going to zero then what would be the actual value of a 10 million dollar bitcoin that is based on fiat that is going to zero, help me understand, is that 10 million dollar bitcoin really going to be worth that much or will the fiat be so worthless that if you cashed out that 10 million your buying power would be nothing?
Physical asset also follows the money supply and is directly proportional to money supply. There are also other variables at play to determine the price of the physical asset like real estate. But BTC has inverse relationship with value of the physical asset like real estate over time as it continues to mature because it is more deflationary in design than real estate. Yea if there is a scenario where population grows rapidly like money supply then real estate will be extremely valuable and hard to obtain.

Every single coin in my portfolio has outperformed bitcoin. I'm not saying bitcoin isn't a great asset. However, the chance for upside is obviously more in any other top coin. ETH will have more multiples, ada, xrp, etc etc, etc. He's acting like only one or two will out perform. Pretty much every single bluechip coin IS outperforming bitcoin. Bitcoin is up 45 percent in a month. That's the lowest upside in the 15 other coins I have. Bitcoin maxies are ridiculous.

“Bitcoin experts” would do great service to their own cause as well as the broader investor community by just strongly recommending a 1 to 2 % portfolio allocation to start with. If 50% of the investors do that, that would be much better than a few people dedicating a large percentage of their assets. It’ll also help moderate the volatility on the downside.

The problem with every other coin that is not Bitcoin is that they are NOT STOCKS. At best they are like trading cards. If they become popular and get hyped up then some people will retire from them. MOST will not. The difference, I think, is between investing in the only finite digital asset in human history vs. gambling on the hype of the market and whether you can get in at the right time and get out at the right time without going broke.

But I get it, the super rich have no incentive to buy any (much less learn about it) since the fiat system has served them well and they don’t think there’s anything better out there. But they’ll all learn sooner or later, even if it’s based on hype. BTC is pretty much a Veblen good so, paradoxically, the more expensive it gets, the more interest/demand it gets. If there are still so many rich people not on board, then we are most certainly still early.

My strategy, as someone one who doesn't have thousands to spend on BTC, is use the altcoins to grow a few hundred into a few thousand, put half of that into BTC after the bull market finishes, the remainder into the same altcoins to increase my position for next time. Then keep adding to the altcoin positions during the bear market.
In theory, my profits from the altcoins should get bigger each cycle, and each cycle, I should (hopefully) be able to buy more BTC than if I hadn't invested in the altcoins.
BTC is like my retirement fund. At some point, I would hope to have enough that I can transfer it to the stock market in a diverse portfolio of dividend stocks that pays enough each month to live off.

Don't think I'll get over the fact I did not buy bitcoin when i had the chance. Looking to buy now though but will there be any other decline in the price of bitcoin this year? Predicting short-term market movements is extremely difficult in reality. It also essentially requires the investor to be right twice: they must perfectly time both their entrance to and exit from the market.
I recently stopped taking advise from TH-camrs; cos' in the long run, I only end up with a jumbled collection of assets. Whereas all I needed to earn over $470k in less than two years was guidance from a true market expert. Maybe thats what you should do too.

If bitcoin goes to say 10 million per coin and let's say that happens in 10 years and that 10 million dollars is what it would cost you in fiat dollars and fiat is slowly going to zero then what would be the actual value of a 10 million dollar bitcoin that is based on fiat that is going to zero, help me understand, is that 10 million dollar bitcoin really going to be worth that much or will the fiat be so worthless that if you cashed out that 10 million your buying power would be nothing?
Valid point. Almost have to sell along the way & put in physical assets. But same is true with stocks.
Physical asset also follows the money supply and is directly proportional to money supply. There are also other variables at play to determine the price of the physical asset like real estate. But BTC has inverse relationship with value of the physical asset like real estate over time as it continues to mature because it is more deflationary in design than real estate. Yea if there is a scenario where population grows rapidly like money supply then real estate will be extremely valuable and hard to obtain.

Every single coin in my portfolio has outperformed bitcoin. I'm not saying bitcoin isn't a great asset. However, the chance for upside is obviously more in any other top coin. ETH will have more multiples, ada, xrp, etc etc, etc. He's acting like only one or two will out perform. Pretty much every single bluechip coin IS outperforming bitcoin. Bitcoin is up 45 percent in a month. That's the lowest upside in the 15 other coins I have. Bitcoin maxies are ridiculous.
