    I'm a local fell runner and traditional hiking boots can be pretty dangerous all over the Carneddau in the wet, it gets so slippery, but fell running shoes have much better grip on soft and steep terrain, and some fell running shoe companies like Inov8 and VJ Sport also make boots which have grip designed more for softer ground than traditional hiking boots, which are designed to be a jack of all trades and master of none, I use Inov8 boots around there which work really well in the wet as they have a studded grip pattern.

      Hi Mark, big respect if you can run these sort of routes, it almost kills me just walking them. 😊 I've never heard of Inov8 before but I did a quick google and can see the studded tread you refer too. They look really grippy. Something for the future maybe. Thanks for your message. 👍
