Wide Cabinet! | 2000 KONE MonoSpace MRL @ Chancery Square, Auckland CBD (Carpark)

Now we actually come to the lift in the Chancery Square shopping area! This one is also a MonoSpace, but it’s much older than the previous one - about 18-19 years older, in fact! This is a first-generation KONE MonoSpace from the year 2000 featuring Sigma fixtures. As usual, they are a bit hard to press, as evident at the beginning when the B2 button just wouldn’t light up lol! Also, this elevator appears to have a much larger MRL cabinet than normal! I’m not sure if this is the norm with these early MonoSpaces, as I never really noticed it on any others until NZ Lifts pointed just this one out when he filmed this. It could well be a one-off; it just sticks out like a sore thumb… Anyway, apart from that there’s not too much to go on about this lift. It is a bit dirty and vandalised, but what can you expect from a lift out in the open in a public carpark lol. This was the last elevator I filmed on Day 4 - I obviously couldn’t get to any of the office elevators as it was already after-hours.

This lift is operating horribly! The cover for the indicator has been stripped, the floor is absolutely filthy and they've decided to "B :)" next to the button.
That's the price you pay for having a lift in a public carpark... 🙄

Oh well. Especially given it’s Auckland, I expected some vandalism in the carpark lifts. The MonoSpace down the road in the previous video was only in good condition because it was relatively new 💀

@@Im_Jay45 Eh; if it’s held up reasonably well for the past 23 years (apart from in-cab vandalism it still runs reasonably well), I think it should be fine for a bit longer lol…
