- supercarsofaustria spotted the brand new 2015 Volkswagen Golf R400 Concept. The Video shows: A walkaround, a start Up, driving scenses and then the new VW Golf R400 drove back to a truck. This was the first time that anyone could hear the sound of this car in puplic. Filmed in Vienna, Austria

@@MrTARIQSs Lol. You're right. At the time every automagazine wrote the Plus model would get like 400hp but I was pretty dissappointed when they announced otherwise

Sad this won't make it into production. This is how the Golf R should have always looked in my opinion. I never liked how it really doesn't look too much different than a GTI. I get there's a significant performance increase but for almost 10k more, you definitely want some more exterior upgrades or nuances.
I would buy this thing in a heartbeat if it came to the US!
Well, we know how that played out...if it's not a minivan, suv or a pickup...it won't ever come to the USA...

Not totally sold on it, 400hp out of a 2 litre 4pot is a lot to ask. Fuel Mileage will be poor, turbo lag will be noticeable and the exhaust note will leave alot to be desired. I think if i was the engineers behind it I would have looked into reinventing the vr6. Vr6 tsi would be damage
A tsi VR6 would definitely be better, but then it will add to costs...am sure fuel mileage will be great because ive seen many tuned 400hp+ 2.0T that have great fuel economy and are still very reliable..

Don't know why but I laughed when he closed the door and the vw badge flipped.
Back up camera is located in the badge, it flips up when the car is put in reverse

For those of you saying they will ship this car is wrong , they will ship the parts the their assembly warehouse in mexico and build them their like all vw models then will then be shipped to us by truck. There is a reason when I open my hood to my 20thgti is says right there assemble in mexico and with a little more research you will find it to be true too

I’m betting this will be available probably q3 2019 for the EDM. All brands now have (or are about to release) 400bhp cars. If this car doesn’t happen I’ve still got the m2 or Cayman gt4 there ready to take my money

I'm not sure I agree with you what example of tuned 400hp cars with good mileage are you talking about ? the problem with boosted 2.0 l is that if you drive them like a gran you'll get good fuel economy but when boost comes on fuel is just thrown at the engine and economy drops exponentially
