    all those gagets will sureley make your rides harder because you always have something distracting you from what you should do and that is rideing,the more gagets you use the higher the rate of a possible crash.SIMPLE advice, keep it clean and stay focus when you ride,leave gagets and batery stuff at home they are nothing but distractions from the road and what you need to do on the bike.its also a good idea to shut the phone or at least mute it anything can make you drop your bike and your life with it.the theory is good behind these inventions but the products are just fancy toys that are mostly useless and dangerous to use wile rideing

    Has turnsignals... does not use them in favor of taking hands off controls.
    I have one of the Sena units. Granted it is a couple years old, but I find the idea they will pick up other units 5 miles away VERY generous. Maybe I am hearing that wrong. I could still hear my riding partner in a parking lot about 150 yards away but it was getting choppy. However, my Sena provides very clear communication, easy switching to music with easy controls, and one button voice controlled phone calls. The noise cancelling also works extremely well.
    I get the simplicity of just sticking the light to the back of your helmet, but I would imagine just using an accelerometer would be prone to unintended activations or fails to activate.
    Not a fan of a device sitting in your vision drawing the eye away from the important parts of what you should be looking at. Your mileage may vary.

    @mikethespike7579 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The trouble with most motorcycle accessories are their excessive asking prices. On top of that a lot of the safety accessories seem at least to me to be trivial. As for these fancy communication devices, LOL! Don't even think of answering a call with one while driving. They distract your concentration on the road and are dangerous. If you want to answer a call or make a call just pull to the side first.

    • @charlieross-BRM
      @charlieross-BRM 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had a Sena SMH10 from the earliest days and it actually relaxed me and was safer than pulling over to take a call. That surprised me because before I got it, I thought who the hell wants music distracting them while riding, and certainly not taking phone calls. I won it in a contest so I gave it a go, thinking I would sell it in weeks. I won't go into a long story but for several reasons, it keeps me more relaxed and in the right state of mind to be in the moment on the motorcycle, not thinking about anything else that I find distracting or aggravating my mind. I don't use the intercom function, finding someone nattering in my ear when they feel like as annoying.

    • @mikethespike7579
      @mikethespike7579 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@charlieross-BRM Sure, listening to music while on the road is great and helps me to concentrate. My fave is classic hard rock in the car, but the cost for such a system for my bike puts me off. As for communicating with a biker pal, no way. I'm pretty much a quiet sort of person, I rather like to keep communication down to a minimum on the road, hand signs are enough. As for telephoning while on a bike , why do people think they are so important that they need to always be reachable regardless of where they are or what they are doing. I'm on my bike for a reason.Just like a classics enthusiast listening to Tchaikovsky or Mozart doesn't want to be disturbed until the piece is finished, I want to experience the moment on my bike without someone suddenly calling me for some reason that can anyway wait.

    interesting stuff. Usually the second I hit a free state the first thing I do is toss my helmet and cell phone into the lake so I can ride in peace.

    half of these can be remedied with a phone mount

    • @NeoIsrafil

      Sorta... the Sena handles road noise better than any intercom I've ever used, regular noise cancelation is nothing by comparison. When I take calls people can't even tell I'm riding. I have a phone mount too, but not having to look down would enhance safety, extra lights on helmet or jacket would improve safety too.
      Yes you can get by without any of it, of course, but theyre all useful tech that makes things more comfortable and safer.

    The company tanked, its map licensing expired, and every NUVIZ is now basically an expensive paperweight. There are some people attempting to write new software for the existing hardware that will enable them again
