I own wooden Jian, dao, 8'8" wing chun pole, and a 7.2 foot tapered staff with pointy tip from Santosh Weapons. Quality is very high. I prefer his wood jian to the ones made by Tiger's Den as he was able to make them lighter to better suit my kids. His staves are all hand carved, not machine made, they are straight, but you can see the minor variations when you look down the shaft. For people in Canada, his pricing is better than any other outfit in the US or other country and you don't have to worry about cross border shipping either. He is also very open to any feedback and customization options are excellent.
I dig. Ever since EverythingWingchun stopped making their polycarb trainers specific to their different knife designs, I've been trying to find alternatives for my friends who do southern styles
I have purchased a few jians from Santosh Weapons and they stand up well to full contact sparring. David is great to work with and does the little things that make all the difference as a supplier of quality weapons
You could not wear gloves and just never get hit. -People who live in a fantasy world and never spar I have several swords from Santosh. Excellent craftsmanship with the details and the feel is amazingly realistic, which is so beneficial for training.

Looks good! I have a pair of plastic (nylon?) trainers from Purpleheart Armory, but I like the look and feel of wood more. I might look into these.

It depends on a couple of production factors, so I can't say for sure at this point.
