I really like your lessons, it is very valuable to me as an intermediate beginner where I have to learn so much. My pleasure to see you dancing around your house 😀 with your wife after I paid a cup of coffee. No, honestly ~ you deserve it definitely! Thank you so much ~ Roland
Hi there and thank you so much for your support and your suggestion. Actually I have recently relaunched my TH-cam channel with (hopefully) well made videos in a dedicated home studio, but many years ago I made a tutorial on vibrato which was just made on an iPad. The filming quality and editing is poor but the information is hopefully useful and you could do me a real favour by watching it and letting me know if you find it helpful and also if you think I should remake it. I’d be very grateful for your feedback and the video is here: Vibrato on the sax th-cam.com/video/gYKE14YagJQ/w-d-xo.html
Hi lynden I’ve just discovered your channel & im well impressed with your teaching skills I’ve been playing on & off for about 40 years now the last few as a solo artist playing at weddings & such but as you know we are always learning in this game so I’m going to be a regular viewer of your videos my weakness is chords😩 I’ll get you a coffee & see you soon 😊
hey, im a beginner saxophonist and improvise a bit (im more of a guitarist) what are your advice for me to get better at saxophone (chord changes, better quality on my improv...) or tunes to learn/ artists to listen... im all ears thanks for your content!!!
I realised my stupid mistake yesterday and was contemplating re-uploading the whole video. I have just edited it here on TH-cam, took about 35 minutes to do and will take a while to upload again. I'm so sorry Helge please forgive my ignorance and thank you so much again, it meant such a lot to us as self employed musicians to find a new way of creating income. Thanks again, you are my first coffee buyer!
Would you mind explaining which track you are now using & how to find it using that jazz session band app you suggested Lynden? Just downloaded it today thanks to you! 👏👏👌👌😁👍

Hi Lynden. What’s your take on the Major Blues against the Minor Blues? Also would like to ask about tonguing! I feel if I tongue every single note the sound becomes a little disconnected ! If I just move my emboucher pressure it sounds better. Maybe you could do a video on that 🤔 maybe. Thanks 🙏🏻
Hi Gary, thanks for your message. I love both major and minor blues. I really love Stolen Moments, check out Earnie watts playing with Lee Ritnour. Definitely wouldn’t tongue every note, a mix of tonging and slurring is best. Does this help? 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎
Craig I’m not 100% sure what you’re asking here, but it’s Soul Jazz Funk volume 3, it’s on the 70’s Funk feel and it’s set to Dm7(9) for alto which is Gm7(9) for tenor sax. Does this help?
After having a think about your question a bit more, if you had a song such as Mustang Sally, you could use this scale to make a solo and it would sound awesome. You'd need to be in the right key, of course but you could make a fantastic solo over the whole tune. Another example is the tune Summertime, you can follow the chords or you could use a blues scale over the whole thing. Also, Autumn Leaves another song where this one type of scale will fit over the whole thing. You won't get the different sound dimensions that following the chord structure offers you to do, but it will still sound good if you're able to throw the scale around and make some interesting phrases. Hope this helps!
Thanks!

Ari thank you sir and it’s a pleasure! More videos are on the way 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎

@@craig9140 awesome 🤩
Great video! Very helpful. Just a question: over which chords would you suggest using D blues scale? e.g Dm song?
Thank you! Yes, you can use a blues scale in D over a D-7 chord (that would be F-7 concert)

It’s actually session Band Soul Jazz Funk Volume three, on a 70’s Funk feel and D-7 for alto sax. Does this help?
