How I fit ALL my Gear in Uniform POCKETS - Sleep System, Rations, Infrared Camouflage

- Wearing the German Army Einsatzkampfjacke (Smock) and the Einsatzkampfhose, I head out into the forest. All my gear is fitted in the pockets of my clothes, it includes:
- Sleep System
- Protection against weather and thermal imaging / infrared cameras
- Rations + Heater
- First aid kit / IFAK
- More gear
I show what I carry and how I stow it in my pockets. Then I set up my sleep system and shelter. I cook food and eat. Next I show how to hide my heat signature using a BASHA and compare it to simply sleeping in a bivvy bag.

I did nearly the same in Iraq. My "assault pack" was used primarily for camera equipment as i was a combat photographer.

Super! Endlich mal ein Video ohne Musik, Sprache und Reingeschnittene Mätzchen! Klasse! Mehr davon! Und gelernt hab ich auch noch was. Kocher auf Spaten stellen, gegen Brandgefahr. Hab zwar nie einen Klappspaten dabei, aber erwäge einen leichten zu kaufen und dann ist es Multitool. Die feuersichere Matte brauche ich bisher nicht. Welche ist eigentlich am kleinsten zusammen zupacken und am leichtesten? Danke für Eure Hilfe!

How about sleeping bag it’s looks so comfortable and more looks like nice blanket so interesting and how is your experience with it and can you plz drop me some feedback while looking at heat control and warmer it’s looks so awesome

Das ist die KSK Kampfjacke und Hose von Leo Köhler. Sie hatten mal in ATACS-FG Tarndruck produziert. Aktuell gibt es dieses Muster glaube ich nicht mehr. Wird in Flecktarn vom KSK genutzt. Viele Grüße und Horrido, Martin 🤜🏻🤛🏻

Servus Michael, sorry für die späte Antwort. Ja genau das ist das gute alte Bundeswehr Poncho. Persönlich mag ich den Smock, leider nutze ich ihn recht selten. Eine richtig große Tasche (Rucksack) ist eben doch irgendwie praktischer als viele mittelgroße 😉 Horrido und Grüße, Martin 🤜🏻🤛🏻🪖
I've been of the application and opinion that a survival smock/ Einsatzkampfjacke is for last ditch survival item to be carried in the event that you lose your rucksack and rig/web-gear. What I see here is basically taking items from a backpack and overloading a survival/Einsatzkampfjacke smock to remain in a preplanned comfort zone. This is not realistic IMO, and to me this defeats the purpose of these smock as they are not designed to be overloaded like this for normal use and when wearing full kit they would never be over loaded like this- Thus if you lose all your rucksack and rig, you would not have so much kit ready to use from a smock... A survival/Einsatzkampfjacke in a real situation would offer much less resources and pose a much harder challenge to work/survive from. I concede that I could be taking the video out of context and my perspective is clouding the true message of your video.. Anyhow thank you for the time you used for us making and posting this video. Time is a unrenewable resource!
Thank you for your view on the video Ivarr! I did not intend to pack my gear as you would when using the 3 lines principle. I would for example pack a firearm and extra ammunition (which would be part of the first line). I would have the sleep system in the second line. Instead I had beer, camera gear and something to read, so this is not a survival setup, rather a minimalistic setup for an overnighter which fits in my pockets. Hope that differentiates a bit my intention. But actually your comment is a great Inspiration for another video where I simulate the "real" scenario. Could you perhaps please at some point show the IR signature of having two tarps on top of each other with an air gap? With one tarp you’re still much warmer than the forest floor. I suspect a ventilated tarp over tarp setup might reduce the IR signature to the background level.

I do that during the winter with either my KSK Smock or my Swiss Army Pizza Camo Smock, both are great load carriers, but now, I would simply melt if having to wear such in 30+ degrees.

Servus mein Lieber! Ja genau, man muss irgendwie schauen, dass sich das Tarp nicht erwärmt und am besten gut belüftet ist. Oder wie du sagst, wenn man eine dicke Schicht Blätter, Moos und Äste ergänzt, dann müsste es noch besser tarnen wenn das Tarp komplett abgedeckt ist. Lass uns doch mal eine Tour gemeinsam machen. Dann können wir zwei gleiche Shelter bauen und eines noch abdecken zum direkten Vergleich 👍🏻

Sehr gut mein lieber. Wie sieht es mit Feuchtigkeit aus ? Ich bin auch mittlerweile auf Inlett 's gekommen in Verbindung mit Poncho Liner oder Schlafsack. Ich fand das immer so naja , aber muss sagen der Komfort und die Wärmeleistug steigert sich dadurch schon um einiges.
Das sind wohl die ersten Anzeichen das ich alt werde 😭 oder noch schlimmer vielleicht schon bin 😭😭😭

Also der Punkt mit der Atmungsaktivität stimmt absolut. Für eine Nacht ist es ok finde ich, bei mehreren Nächten sollte man immer gut trocknen und auslüften. Oder einen ordentlichen Schlafsack nutzen 😉 Horrido, Martin 🤜🏻 🤛🏻

I have this jacket & ordered it a size larger than i normally wear (glad i did, since EU sizes are a bit more snug than U.S.) it's quite literally the best field jacket I've ever owned.

Hi, it is called Einsatzkampfjacke and is produced by Leo Köhler. It is used by Kommando Spezialkräfte (KSK) and oftentimes referred to as KSK Smock. I have the version in ATACS FG camo and I am not sure whether that pattern is still available. Cheers, Martin 🤜🏻 🤛🏻
