It is just a rather odd comment. A bit negative sounding even if you did not intend it. Yes, the subjects have contemplative, wistful appearances. Lovely mood. Artist’s choice, i think.

I am also always amazed at the skin. Looks like several very very light glazes and continued softening of the edges with a damp brush.
