The all pro CB of the Cleveland Browns, Denzel Ward, has had 4 concussions in the last 3 years! His last one was in the last pre-season game against the Chiefs this year. (2023) Even though his loss would be a blow to the defense, I'm sure for his long term mental health he and his family and friends are trying to convince him that he has enough money and should retire at the end of 2023. Sadly for the team and fans I must agree.
Ward had another concussion this year (8/12/24) in training camp putting his total number of concussions sustained at 5 since entering the league in 2018 🤕. Ward has since said he didn't consider retirement and that he's "not concerned about it". 😢
The Dallas Cowboys this year have a ton of guys with funny names. Schoonmaker, Odigizua, Tolbert, Turpin, Lamb, Overshown, Hendershot.....lol Omg. 😂 Sounds like a cast from Lord of the Rings.
So, just to get this straight, if 15 or more players on a single NFL team die, the league would let the affected team pick replacements from all the other 31 teams, and if enough die, the season is canceled for that team, and they get the first pick in the next draft. Sounds like a great idea! With the best of intentions! What could possibly go wrong? The movie script practically writes itself.

Realistically, the "Madden Curse" sounds less like an actual curse and more like indicator of the increasing dangers, that are attributed to a career in the NFL. This is especially evident in the last few minutes of the video, regarding injuries and early retirements, etc.
And what does the NFL do? They lengthen the season and add more Thursday and Saturday games, giving players less recovery time, while also eliminating the first-round playoff bye for everyone but the conference leader. They also continue to insist artificial turf is fine.
Agreed. Always thought the madden curse was a bunch of baloney because an actual curse would continue to afflict those involved until broken. It can’t be broken one year then come back the next
There are certain facts that don't seem to get covered. At the time of his death Thomas family said that he had seizures and he died from a seizure. Whether or not that had anything to do with CTE is speculative. Aaron Hernandez didn't start acting erratic because of CTE. He was doing that in high school. In college he wanted to act like a gangster. He did that until he murdered people and got caught.
I was just about to comment about this. Thomas died of a seizure due to injuries he got in a car accident. It was found out later that he had stage two of CTE.
Most of those concussions come from the head hitting the ground and springing back up. In this day and age, sports science needs to come up with a workable solution soon to stop the head from hitting hard when they are knocked flat on their backs.
My uncle played for the colorado rams and his coach was that asshole that they made the movie about who forced players to play against doctor recommendations. The helmets were so old and shitty that he would make them use pieces of cut up gym mats as "padding". My uncle committed suicide after some years and in his goodbye letter he felt like a failure because he was being scouted by multiple nfl reps and didn't end up with the life he thought he would at all. CTE is real..and it's really tragic. I'm choosing not to type his name but I promise you every word I just said is true.

I think the teams decide who can go.. and I don't think it's starters... or especially higher draft picks.. cuz the disaster team gets the first round pick next draft!
I imagine it'd be like the supplementary draft when a new team joins the league. Every team chooses to give up 5 players or something, but they choose the players. Some teams would take the chance to get out of large contracts, and some would use it to drop 4th string players
The league's teams get to decide who they send over. Much like the expansion team process. Basically...the goal is to stand up a basically competent additional NFL team, and the rest of the teams that are required to provide players all meet up and come to an agreement of who is sending whom. The question I have though is I don't know if the teams are eligible to send practice squad members along with the 53 on the roster.
I disagree. Where is the chip? Saying chip is singular, so there is only 1 chip inside, if it is in the center of the ball it does not tell you if the ball is pointing up, down or sideways, and in a "game of inches", that matters. A touchdown is any part of the ball breaking the plane of the end zone, but you are now saying the chip has to cross? Again, I ask, where is the chip?
From what I have read in the past CTE could only be determined after the players were deceased. Is there a test they can do on players now to test for CTE?
The one in the beginning where the bills rip down the goal post, you should’ve seen Tennessee after they beat Alabama they ripped down the goalposts and threw it into the Tennessee river
