Hey Gav. I spoke to my uncle, he's had a couple of kias and he agrees with your friend John about getting a new damper. I know that you'll be hoping for a cheap fix though. Looking forward to see how you get on 🙂

I had the same issue with my kia ceed. I had to have a new clutch fitted and all the problems were solved.

@@richemery1639 I'm hoping this is just the case of the seemingly common problem with the clutch regulator/damper.
If not, it'll be a clutch replacement but I'm a tight git and hoping for a cheap fix 😀

Hi gav was hoping that the shim might have solved the problem ..was surprised by the amount of wear there is in that rod end.. sadly not the case.. have seen posts with other cars in the kia range where just fitting a sump plug bolt has sorted it and looking at the probable price of a kia part V a sump plug it might be worth trying a sump plug first before biting the bullet £££££££.. what ever you decide good luck with it.. 🙂

Phil, it definitely made a difference, couldn't engage the gears, at all, before putting the shim in place. Will try to source an M16 x 1.5 bolt tomorrow and I'll possibly also order a Clutch Regulator from AliExpress to fit at a later date, if the sump plug/bolt restores full clutch disconnection function.
