The last sentence of the brain has been ''Think of mango'' Many mobs also talk about mangos, which means that they attack the tower not for the gold but because your tower keep mangos. Deep lore
My favorite thing with mortars: several mortars fire at a battering ram; first shot kills the ram spawning all the little guys who look up to see shells falling right above them. Instant carnage.
Nice strategy of spreading out the certain mortar towers and clumping others together. It would make sense that you use a variety of priorities to get the mortars to target different enemies. Too bad you can't get the paths wrap around your base. One thing that I observed from the video is that you can tell where the enemy is by looking at where the shells are going. Those who are operating the mortars are skilled at leading the targets.
The paths wrapped around the base would have been amazing! I hope to find a great map like that one day :D The people operating the mortars are our top minds, though sometimes they do fire them off randomly. For fun I suppose
@@Verowak no they dont randomly shoot, the random shots happen sometimes because the target they were shooting at died before the shell hitting for the most cases In some cases slowing them down via frost keeps or so and having different paths for them to go also fucks thr ai up Also the pc quality can influence the functionality of the aiming
Been really enjoying watching your RT videos. I love them, your voice has a calming, kinda soothing vibe to it and it just makes for pleasant viewing. The vids are great to just chill out and relax to.
I hope this doesn’t come across as negative. I’ve been on a Rogue Tower binge because it provides awesome background noise for cooking/falling asleep. Your vids are perfect! Keep up the great work!
My understanding on the priorities is a First this, 2nd this, 3rd this. So if any mob has shields, a "most shields" will always be targeted first. For the robots with high armor and no shields though, they get ignored, so a "Least shields" then "Most armor" will focus them to make sure they release the missiles early. I also throw in a couple to look at "fastest" just to spread damage a little.
First priority is most likely to be followed, but it depends on how much shield there is vs how much of the second priority. Each priority has a power applied to it (not sure what that power is) then it determines which enemy gets targeted. Example, if there are two enemies in range of a tower, one with 10 shield and one with no shield but 100 armor, with "most shield" as top priority and "most armor" as second, the enemy with more armor will probably be the one targeted since the overall score is higher. Typically the priorities do follow the order but not all the time. Fastest is a great priority to use though
Well at 44 mintues I bought this game....first time ever seeing anything about this.....you made this seem really awesome And they are called Crews, mortar crews
Just randomly stumbled on u watching tower videos and youre really entertaining and relaxing to watch. Keep up the good work cuz u deserve all the subs
I've been getting the "only X tower" trophies lately and saved the "no ballista" one for last, and I didn't expect using only mortars to go so smoothly.
Have you ever considered a speedrun of this game? Such as fastest time to beat wave 1-30? I love challenge run content and speed run content, the creativity is fascinating. 1 tower challenges tell me you certainly have those creative juices to beat a challenge
19:38 there IS another way, it's called "firing tables", basically take the distance to target, elevation difference and type of ammo used, then look at the table and aim that way
I think those last few levels would have been a bit less stressful if you set some of the tower priorities to fastest. That would have helped with grouping as well.
That makes perfect sense. I tend to keep a few at progress just so the first (usually the missiles) ones get attacked. If the missiles are not in front, I sort of assume the explosion from mortar will get them along the way.
I'm trying to be a math nerd with this game so..... Ironically this best map for mortars bcuz it's super spread out. A tight map would be way harder as prio for mortars is hard. Their damage is so delayed that even when they aren't overlapping you can drop dps. This might even be a viable cannonball map!
"marked" means marked by the watchtower, so no sense to put it in your priorities . Best way to put the priorities is to put the first mortars who will hit enemies on shields, then armor, then health... and near the tower put some on progress, some on health, and some on armor ( there shouldnt be any shields anymore ) Aaaaand, you should destroy all 3 mortars near the tower as soon as possible. they are way more effective at a spot with +2 or +3
I know marked means the enemies marked by the tower, but I didn't want 3 options for my towers, only 2. I could have just used 2 priorities for "Most shield" for example, but it's easier to click once to get to marked instead of 4 times to get to "Most shield"
On runs you know you won't be using mana buildings, can throw haunted houses down, one for each mana/sec. They're worth it if you can hit two or three graves per house. I don't choose it on purpose but often it's the only non-building choice you take it anyway. Might as well get a little gold for it. Over a run it's like 1 extra building lol. Pretty bad but it's free gold. They pollute the card pool, too, with seance. They need a buff.
I don't unlock the haunted ouse upgrade nor use it because I don't want the extra cards to clutter my deck. I have a hard enough time getting the cards I want alreadt lol They desperately need a buff of some kind, because at the moment, they are very bad :(
@@Verowak For sure, don't unlock it on purpose. But when you're trying for, say, a mortar/ballista run or whatever, sometimes it is the only thing you can take that isn't a weapon card. If you're going to take it anyway it's worth dropping a few down.
@@derendohoda3891 I can see how that could be, but I still don't want the cards from Haunted House to pollute my deck :D Once they buff them (I hope), I'll use them!

good vid, mortars are my favorite tower. especially now with mana mortars haha but i wonder why you use the marked prioritization without a lookout? What does it do?
I haven't tried the mortars since the new update! I use Marked because I dislike the prioritizing system since the order doesn't matter. If you have 3 priorities, you may not have a certain one really be a priority until the other are no longer as important, so if I want a tower to actually focus on highest shield, you can mark 1 priority a highest shield, then the other two a marked and it'll focus on highest shield since I don't have any lookout towers, so the marked priority is basically taken out of the equation. If I want to focus on either highest shield OR highest armor, then I put the third priority marked so only 2 priorities are taken into account.
@@Verowak in the new update the priority order does actually matter, the top is considered more than the middle and bottom, and the middle is less than the top but more than the birtom

I could have simply made 2 priorities the same, but Marked is one click to the left instead of 3-4 clicks to the right :D
how come you don’t manually upgrade towers? Since mortars are sooo expensive, would it not be worth to give like 2-3 levels, for example in anti-shield, to make the mortars you have a significant degree better? Edit: ahh you did. Other question. I know haunted houses suck and drain unreasonable amounts of mana, but since you aren’t using your mana why not place a single one just to make use of it.
I usually don't want to cards to populate my deck and give me less chances of getting the upgrades that I want. I'll probably do a run with haunted houses to show how they are
I think I had 1 or two for progress, but the way I see it for this map, since it's a long 1 path, when an enemy enters the range of a new tower, it automatically targets that one.
