Great Video! I do have a concern with the compost statement. If you put the stalks with seed pods in compost, don't you run the risk of the grasses spreading? The seeds may have already dropped during the fall/winter but I was wondering if composting somehow makes the seeds inert? (my guess is this isn't a real problem, just me overthinking it).
An electric hedge trimmer will do. You don't need a chain saw. That's a little over the top especially when you are considering your neighbours and noise pollution.
In larger ornamental grasses like older, mature pampas, you may very well need a chain saw. With dense plants like pampas, the stalks are razor sharp and cutting in one or two lops of the chain saw is safer than smaller, numerous cuts with the hedge trimmer.

I like the cord tip. If you have several large grasses though, a chain saw is the ONLY way to go. Keep up the good work!
